I have the advantage of being in retrospect now but I still don't see it with how much was offered.

1. Those were not for the next season. This was a trade offer in 2022 for picks in 2024 and 2025. There is no certainty in those at all, and if something is uncertain it has less value. Burns play has kinds dropped off, but at the time he was in discussion for a contract that would reset the defensive end market.  whether he was worth it then…eh. Burns is kind of a white elephant

2. the panthers missed the playoffs by one game that year and probably make them if horn doesn’t break his arm in a freak collision. They almost certainly aren’t there if they send burns out. I enjoy watching football not accumulating picks. Besides, we’ve seen what the panthers do with picks.

and with the gift of retrospect, the panthers probably just package those first rounders into something for Bryce.

trading burns wasn’t the golden ticket to drafting Joe Mahomes Favre or whatever. It was sacrificing what was a fun, engaging second half of the season in 2022 for like keeping dj moore and maybe drafting a defensive end.

That's the absolute worst argument for not accepting that trade

Agree to disagree. Burns wasnt worth keeping either way and I'll take those future picks.

Not even 2 minutes and he already has a sack.

Burns me babyy!

Yeah but he still sucks against the run and is a liability. He also shows how much actual grit he really has because it took this game to get him to actually do something and get his second sack of the season (he only had one leading into this game correct?). If he had any heart he would get himself up for every game and have many more by now. This is his super bowl today and he still isn't going to take the game over and change the outcome. Im still glad he is gone

Zero and he complains about his hamstring and sits some of the game

So I was wrong on the sacks but he still sucks playing the run and is a huge liability. He also has zero tenacity in him because it took playing the Panthers and him getting hyped all up to get his second sack of the season. If he had any nastiness about him, he would have many more sacks of he can motivate himself so much to get sacks at will like this. He isnt worth anywhere near what the Giants paid for him. Good riddance.
