Bryce Young Work Ethic

His work ethic, knowledge, and skills have not translated to the NFL level. Maybe it’ll take some time for it to work out for him, maybe it never will.
I will say that it looks like he’s been lifting because there was one shot of him during the last game where I was like whoa, dudes added some meat to those arms.

Did you watch the first two games?

As of right now statistically across the entire league only Aidan O'Connell and Jameis Winston have less passing yards per game than Bryce Young. Only Deshaun Watson and Jacoby Brissett have less yards per pass attempt. Only Anthony Richardson has a worse passer rating.

So. Are you suggesting that is the result of Bryce Young working his ass off?

Most here think his problem is size and arm strength.  You disagree with that assessment?

Interesting because everything I've heard is that he's basically the qb version of Luke Kuechly when it comes to preparation. Literally the main reason they drafted him

Absolutely no chance - he looks lost and confused on the field most snaps.

Dude can't even identify a blitz.

Obviously he is at a phsyical disadvantage but the laid back offseason certainly didn't help matters. As has been said before. If you're going to be even smaller than other notable comparable outliers you are going to have to work at least twice as hard as your peers. Bryce Young was never challenged like this before because he had the best talent and coaching around him in high school and college. He needed to completely flip the script on his approach following his rookie season. Do you think he did?

Anyone that believes that he spent the entire offseason 'watching netflix' probably also believed the 2024 Presidential polling numbers...

He's asked constantly about his preparation and that's the only time he's answered with any detail beyond "watch film" and "mental reps."

edit: I forgot "trust God."

I don't know what he does in that regard.  None of us do.

All I know if he doesn't have the ability, his work ethic doesn't matter.

The thing is the dude could be 100% about football and only football and that doesn't mean it would ever translate to the field in the NFL. He obviously has the physical limitations but aside from that the dude just does not read the field well or make good in-game decisions. One would think the more practice, studying defenses, experience the better but reality is even with all that some guys just never have it. Which appears to be the case with Bryce.

Yanno what? He's showing improvement. I'm going to sit back and let him work it out. Maybe it all comes together and all that hard work starts paying off for him or it will tell another story.

It's not like we're planning on going on a tear and get into the playoffs or anything, but that last win kind of took some of the desperation edge away from my thoughts on the team. Let the kid play, he'll either grow up before our eyes or make the case that we undoubtably have to move on.

Right now, I have no reason to question his work ethic. I just have questions about the results of it.

You can only go by what someone says. He said it NO ONE made anything up.

If anything the one who keep say of course he did the this and that are the ones with no proof, games 1 and 2 sure looked like he did nothing in the off-season. But of course don't believe your lying eyes... lol

I think that's only a piece of the quote--IIRC he said he did that for a week and then got back to work.

I got no problem with him taking a week. If his ability is made or broken by 1 week, then there's a bigger problem.
