Why are we wasting money on RBs? Not even 2 years and we overpaid for 2 RBs!

Agreed. Sometimes the apple dont fall far from the tree but it doesnt have the same taste as the proven apples. Not sure why but sometimes they just dont. My dad was a DE at a major university and bounced around in the NFL a year at a time on a few practice squads so wasnt a successful NFL player but was a monster in college. Me, I was a walk on at division 1 level and didnt have the size or strength of my dad to play DE and was one of those wimpy little receivers. My apple fell far from the tree and it happens to others even NFL royalty like a Manning

It can also skip a generation.  His dad is Cooper.  It checks out.

I swear there are like 6 people on this godforsaken website that must be paid just to piss and moan all day in these stupid ass threads, for years on end, about fugging everything. Always something to whine about. If y'all aren't getting paid to professionally bitch about this team at every opportunity you need to reevaluate your lives because that ish is pathetic for grown ass men to be doing.

There are at least 50 other voices of reason in here. They're all smarter than you kneejerking perpetual contrarians. It's a fine contract. Our previous dipstick GM ran this team like some college kid that read a few Investopedia articles on technical trading and started throwing daddy's money at every positive indicator he saw - look what happened when Fitt drafted by RAS because he couldn't identify talent if it was footballs deep in his wife in the war room. It's a football team and this preoccupation with analytics, in this instance the positional value of RBs, is like 30% of the equation. It's not wholly inaccurate, but it requires a lot of context and, going back to the trading analogy, an understanding of the fundamentals. This is a sad, crappy organization that needs some winning attitudes in the locker room and on the field. $15 mil guaranteed over two years is nothing compared to the intangible value he brings, and the message the contract sends, not to mention his stellar work ethic and consistent improvement.

Worst win percentage in all of professional sports will do that to a fanbase unfortunately.

On the flip side one could say no one is paying anyone to give the Panthers management lip service either.

There's no right or wrong way to fan for this team especially at this point in time. Just have to take the good with the bad as far as discussion goes.

I will say, sometimes I probably fan the wrong way. If ive had a rough day sometimes im more apt to be a general asshole in my discussions on here and other days im good just here telling bad jokes and making productive conversation.

And that's how we ended up with Miles Sanders. Paying for a RB who had 1 great season.

Now that our RB position is good to go I hope we see some success in the win column.

2 back system is a proven system is what they told me. Can't wait to start winning more games with double trouble!

We ended up with Sanders because of Staley and Fitterer and Reich. And I don’t understand why either.

Maybe we're getting back to keep pounding football a la Stephen Davis and Foster or D'Angelo and Stewart.  One of the most fun games I ever went to was Williams and Stewart running all over and thru the bucs in like 08

Love Chuba,  but his agent definitely forced this move before we see Brooks play

There is for sure some hedging going on.
I think this changing staffs thing has had the coaches not knowing what they have early on. And restocking when they didn’t need to or vice versa.

Chuba has gotten better every year. He's been our most consistent and reliable offensive player. If Brooks doesn't work out (doesn't matter when he was drafted) then we at least still has Chuba.

It’s probably been said, but it didn’t make it all the way through the thread yet.  Chuba is a known asset.  A part of our offense that is consistently working.  This solidifies that for a few years.

If Brooks develops, in 3 or 4 years, we then pay him and decide to either sign Chuba to a team-friendly deal or move along.  Solid management.  $8m annually to cover your backfield for 4 years is a piece that make it easier to continue to build the rest of the team.
