Why are we wasting money on RBs? Not even 2 years and we overpaid for 2 RBs!

The top offense traded for a WR who is a FA after the season. Seems like they think he's a serious enough talent to put them over the top.

Johnson is a high end #2 WR. In the right situation he has #1 type ability. This guy already had a 1000 yard season earlier in his career. He's in his prime right now. For a team who lacks talent you damn right I wanted him on this roster long-term.

But he didn't want to be here so obviously you move on which we did.

Yeah they must have REALLY wanted him.  What did they give up for him??  Last I checked he was practicing punt returns...

I'm not mad just disappointed at the timing. We should have waited until we see what Brooks offered.

At worst it gives us options. That Chubba money could have been spent on a defensive starter. RBs are easy to find more than any other position. You can get them undrafted or late in the draft.

As for those teams with 2RBs you do notice their rosters are legit? We don't have that kind of roster to get wins right away. It only works when you have a roster full of talent. We are far from that.

Again Brooks playing well wasn't changing our opinion on Hubbard.  We want a 1, 2 punch.

Dude, the division-leading Falcons drafted an RB in the first. Arguably the best team in the NFC, also drafted one in the first not too long ago. We drafted one in the second with a likely first round grade notwithstanding an injury (one that some experts expressly said may be better than Bijan, who is better than Jahmyr).

Some of you kill me with the RB thing. Yes, they have been devalued on paper---they're not going to get paid like other positions due to the nature of their positiom, but they're still as important as ever on the field.

Their contracts are still relatively paltry compared to most positions however, so it's not something to get all up in arms or start hand wringing about.

We just wasted money on a RB. You should learn from your mistakes. Everyone is acting like Chubba has been elite for years. This was his first elite season. He could fall off after the contract. You have to look at from both sides.

It makes people question the Brooks pick. Why are you selecting a RB that high only to pay another RB the same season. 2 backs is fine, but you're investing high picks and top 10 RB money for a position that isn't the most valuable.

The 2 back system wins you games when you have the roster. We don't have the roster right now so to think that will equal wins just because other teams produce wins is insane.

There is an argument to be made that Morgan is not strikingly different from Fitterer in some ways and in one particular way Hurney with these significant investments in RB with signing both Hubbard and trading up for an injured Brooks in the draft.

If it works out great if it doesn't then it's going to be because everyone else in the league largely knows RB has become a more devalued position and operates as such going forward. The 49ers while McCaffrey was out had the league leading rusher who was undrafted.

Chubba is now paid like a top 10 RB.

Brooks was the first RB off the board with a 2nd Rd pick.

Boy this better be a damn good duo moving forward or else we just wasted money and a valuable draft pick on 2 average RBs.

I like the way you think. I think some people are getting caught up in "he's a hard worker he deserves it". I'm not questioning if he deserves it. I'm just saying why are we investing high picks and top 10 RB money for 2 RBs.

The position itself is not very valuable. People screaming 2 backs wins you games. Yeah when you have the roster. We don't have the roster to win games with 2 backs.

Just seems like a signing that could have waited until we see what Brooks can bring to the table. Chubba money could have been a defensive starter money in FA.

Miles Trash Ass Sanders has already proven to be a fail.

Chubba is a hard worker, but giving him a big deal before we see what we have in Brooks who we happened to draft in the 2nd is just flat out dumb.

We currently have 3 RBs 2 are overpaid and a rookie who has yet to prove himself. All this money and investment for 3 RBs is insane.

Man they gotta start interviewing random people for the GM job. I swear some of these dudes just be doing anything as the GM. No thought process just making stupid decisions that sets the team back even more.

Let me hear it. I know the poo emojis coming but someone has to speak up for the voiceless!

What are we doing behind closed doors?

So what is your suggestion? Trade him for a 3rd or 4th rounder? Or sign another FA like Sanders?

Except we aren't a run first team

That’s the Only issue I have with this.

if we committed to the run more like Canales said when he took the job.  This signing shouldn’t even concern anyone
