Why are we wasting money on RBs? Not even 2 years and we overpaid for 2 RBs!

You're constantly bitching about letting our talented players leave because we're not willing to pay them. We decide to pay one of the best players on offense (a team friendly contract at that) and here you are still bitching.

Funny how that works innit.

Innit!

Because we have a talent issue, not a cap issue. Chubba is one of the best leaders on our team and sets the tone for what we want to build, and we plan on having two talented backs (one on rookie contract) the next 3 years minimum.

If a RB is our leader on offense we are really in trouble moving forward.

Miles Trash Ass Sanders has already proven to be a fail.

Chubba is a hard worker, but giving him a big deal before we see what we have in Brooks who we happened to draft in the 2nd is just flat out dumb.

We currently have 3 RBs 2 are overpaid and a rookie who has yet to prove himself. All this money and investment for 3 RBs is insane.

Man they gotta start interviewing random people for the GM job. I swear some of these dudes just be doing anything as the GM. No thought process just making stupid decisions that sets the team back even more.

Let me hear it. I know the poo emojis coming but someone has to speak up for the voiceless!

What are we doing behind closed doors?

If Brooks works out well, I think Cubba and Brooks will pair well together and we can trade Sanders... maybe, and keep Blackshear. Chubba needs to be paid here, he was developed here and needs to remain here.

CMC/Moore/Burns were the only elite talents we had in the Tepper era buddy.

All 3 were traded.

Besides Brown who have we been paying that is considered elite?

I'll wait on those elite players home grown in the Panthers house.

I don't think we should've traded Moore, I was one of the ones hoping that Burns would've been the one in that deal rather than Moore. And actually we did pay Moore, we just then ended up shipping him off which was dumb.

I don't really think Burns ever contributed to winning here - we should've taken that Rams deal and ran, but the FO at the time miscalculated.

CMC I could see the rationale at the time, in hindsight what we got back wasn't great and compounded by the fact that we then ended up wasting those picks. But while he was great for the 9ers last year, his injury issues have flared up again and he's yet to play a snap this season.

The salary cap this year is 255.5 million. It will go up again next season, but let's say it doesn't. Chuba accounts for 3.2% of our overall cap each year (with that percentage decreasing each season as the cap goes up). I'm fine giving the guy producing 1/3 of all our offensive output 3% of the cap.

My issue is not with Chubba he is a good guy. My issue is with the position. Why are we paying a RB before we see what we have in Brooks. Chubba could have got paid in the off-season.

Is the Rb position devalued, absolutely. At the same time, it's not guaranteed that Brooks is going to be an ALL PRO rb. Chubba has earned it, sign him now and don't let him hit free agency, so there won't be a bidding war for him. Don't throw away something that is already good, hoping for something to be good.

Its the position bro.

If we hadn't used a 2nd Rd pick on a RB I would not be questioning this contract. However we drafted Brooks pretty damn high and he's gonna be a backup to a RB we paid top 10 money. This is after we got screwed over with Sanders. We have been investing in RBs for the past few years now. We paying the wrong position.

How does that make any sense?

Think about what we spend on our total offense each season. For the next few years we will have three of the most expensive positions filled under rookie contracts (assuming we draft another QB or stick with Bryce for one more year). The only area we have spent money is on the line and our center and RT will be gone soon as well. At some point you have to have playmakers on the team and Chubba is a leader who has produced 1/3 of our offense

Not a backup, a 1-2 punch, and that's if Brooks works out, which is not a guarantee.

The difference between paying Sanders and paying Chuba is that Chuba has actually proven he can play the position well under current circumstances, Miles clearly hasn't.

If you want to build a winning culture, you keep guys like Chuba around.

My thoughts are that with Saquan and Derrick Henry owning the highlight reels, there’s going to be a shift in RB pay. Maybe they are being proactive there. He is also the epitome of a ‘dawg’

Yeah the problem is we paying a guy who isn't really a factor in winning games. He's a top 3 RB and all we have to show for it is 2 wins. This is with a pretty good Oline.

We talking about a RB man.

Bro, watch just the last game. He was pretty good, and a factor.

Bigger picture, the biggest reasons we are losing games is no defense, and the QB position is broken.

Looking forward, it also is a maxim, unwritten rule, whatever... a young QB's best friend is a great OL and running game (and a defense too lol 'nother subject). So if we get another young QB those things are in place.

With all due respect I don't think any team was going to pay Chubba big money. He wasn't helping us win games. We are the only team dumb enough to overpay a RB aka Miles Sanders.

Even the elite RBs had trouble getting paid. Nobody wanted Saquan besides the Eagles and Henry could only get Baltimore interested in him. The position is valuable when you have a roster around them.

Henry was a non factor in Tennessee because he didn't have the roster. Same for Saquan.

This is coming from a guy who was a RB in highschool lol. Bro we just run. Our success depends on how the Oline blocks. Without them we are useless literally!
