BREAKING:Panthers re-sign Chuba Hubbard

If I had to guess, I’d say we are trying to copy the Lions with Gibbs and extending Mont. We are at a different stage of the roster building though.

Yeah we actually have a decent offense.

I think it's clear we need a QB and we need to fix the defense. I wouldn't be mad at a all defensive draft tbh.

Sign Fields to a reasonable short term contract. Go from there.

So we wasted a 2nd Rd pick on a RB to backup Chubba moving forward?

Why us?

Backup?

the days of using 1 bell-cow RB are long gone.

See Detroit

See Miami

See GreenBay

Seattle when Canales was there took Walker 41st overall, then took another RB 52nd overall the next draft after drafting a RB in the 4th 2 years prior

Bad decision. Chubba has played well, but his position is not one you keep investing as highly in as the Panthers do, especially when the roster is in the shape it's in and the playcaller prefers passing like he does. This franchise always does poo assbackwards.

We are the dumbest fuging team in the league. We just traded up to draft a RB in the 2nd round and now we're paying a guy we should be letting walk. Just amazing ineptitude. It is no accident that we have become perennial cellar dwellers. We've worked hard to earn it.

In a vacuum good for Chuba he earned it.

In reality this just doesn’t make sense when you just spent a second round pick on the first RB selected in the draft. Selecting a RB that high and not expecting him to eventually be your starter is just bad management.

He’s the 9th highest paid RB in the league and he’s been playing like a top 5 RB

Bro those teams have talent.

Are you telling me a 2RB system is going to lead to more wins then now you talking.

Hopefully the rookie is the real deal if not we going to look real stupid selecting a RB in the 2nd Rd. He should be the best rookie RB the moment he steps on the field. We drafted him as such.

A guy suddenly having a career year in contract year only to revert back to his norm after getting paid is a tale as old as professional sports. Don't be surprised if it happens again.

    • There's a real physical toll that playing in the NFL takes on the body.  Certain things just won't work the same, which will make some of those challenges painful and hard.  These folks are all rich and have cushy lives to return to.  I'm not saying Cam will leave first, but I can see it after a few episodes when old injuries flare up.  Or he decides he's done with it.
    • His size could work against him…BUT Cam is a weird duck.  He was wired differently.  I would bet on the young Cam that could barely get dressed after a loss….that dude wouldn’t have quit easily IMO.  But that dude doesn’t exist anymore.
    • i got attacked by a housecat once. pretty terrifying.  i was at a friends house and the cat jumped on my lap. it was calm for a minute but then it turned on it's back and bit my hand and sunk it's claws into my arm, all four of them so i grab the thing and pull the thing off my arm, dragging it's claws down my arm. i finally get the crazy thing off and throw it on the ground then it grabs my leg (fortunately i was wearing jeans that day) and the owner, who has just been sitting there in shock watching this happen to this point, grabs the thing and carries it downstairs and throws it outside.  supposedly that cat had never done anything like that before. i had been over there a lot and never had any problems with that cat. but something happened to it and it was never the same. went completely mental. they kept it outside after that. one week they went on vacation for a few days and apparently a stray chow came around and when they got home, the chow had the cat trapped under a car. no telling how long it had been there.  they chased off the chow and the cat ran off and they never saw it again. then that chow came back and hung around for a while and was terrorizing the other animals, including an old horse they had in a pasture. it killed at least one cat that i know of. they called animal control on it and they found it under one of their outbuildings. they figured the only thing they could do is shoot the thing. they shot it with a shot gun and it took one blast and then went running towards the guy who shot it and had to shoot it again.
