This is WAY closer to the Falcons drafting Penix after signing Cousins than the Lions drafting Gibbs after signing Montgomery.

Poor allocation of assets across the full roster given where we are as a franchise and state of the roster

One team used a 1st on a RB then extended a vet to a decent contact.  We used a mid 2nd on a RB then extended our vet to a decent contract.  The Lions are actually allocating MORE to their RB room in this scenario.  The fact that you are comparing a $15 million guaranteed contract to the Cousins contract and a mid 2nd to a top 10 pick is just absurd...  I'm not entertaining that.

The Baltimore Ravens have the top offense in the league.  The biggest reasons for that is their run game.

Yes, were not there yet, but you can't ever expect to get anywhere if you keep taking key performances parts off the machine.

The biggest reason is they have a 2x mvp

I think this past offseason was the RB market floor. Teams with run-first offenses are thriving again now that teams went small in their front 7 personnel. RB market trends back up I bet.

again, I dont think this was a bad deal money wise all things considered but there is no way he is getting that contract on the open market

Chuba showed up to camp looking like he had worked all off season to build himself into a workhorse RB. His play is showing that paid off. He’s also somehow improved his hands which is very difficult to do at that point in a career. I’m glad we’re keeping a hard worker who’s performing and seems to be great in the locker room.

I’ll let y’all keep whining though and discussing Sanders like his contract isn’t easy to escape this offseason.
