And? His timeline doesn't match that of the team. That money would have been better spent on the defense, a TE, another receiver, or a center. Another mid to late round RB pick could run well behind the Oline.

At some point we have to start keeping our best players. It’s not an insane amount of money and he earned it. But it would make even more sense if Canales would actually stick to his guns and make running the ball an emphasis.

I think if Brooks had come in and shined the team would have had a little leverage, but they didn't. It is an overpay.

I am only mildly critical though, on whole it is probably a positive. Congratulations to Chuba.

I'm not a fan of this.  But I will say this: we have spent years and years getting rid of our better players.  It might be worth it to keep one guy the fans can root for.

So only 15 of it is fully guaranteed.  Not too bad at all.  Hell 2 years ago he was average 4.9 a carry and last year he was making something out of nothing every play.  We clearly want to be a running team with our pricey guards and RBs.

He's become a fan favorite.  I like him too.  But we should have let someone else be the Panthers and give him that contract.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of paying RBs but this isn't a bad deal. I'm not sure how this fits with Brooks coming in. Maybe Dan Morgan is trying to replicate the old 'Double Trouble' days?
