Panthers Front Office Appreation thread

First off, let me say i Rarely give my opinion in this manner so bare with me.

Am I the only one who is actually pleased to see the Panthers step up and admit defeat when it comes to special teams? sometimes we forget how much of a role in plays in our games. in several games we screwed ourselves w/ poor kickoff and punt coverage. and in 2009 everything seemed to get as bad as it possibly could. Finally FO has decided to do something. even though it came at a time where alot of Big Name FAs are getting moved, but we can't forget all of these little moves are part of one bigger goal. No, im not jumping up and down or shouting "Super Bowl", but im glad we are doing something important to help our team. now excuse me while i crawl back into my hole... :leaving:

I'm going to wait until they fix all of those other little holes (WR, SLB, DE, DT, vet QB) before I give my appreciation. When JR opens up his checkbook I might.

i have a feeling you are going to be depressed for a while bc that just won't happen. ;) . im not 100% satisfied. i wont be until we win a SB. but im glad they have done what they have.

Special teams was definitely a huge weakness for us last year. While I'm glad they are doing something to improve the team, I don't think they need special appreciation for it. Though it may not seem like it sometimes, the FO is just doing their job. And quite honestly, until they make a true attempt to fill all the weaknesses we have, they aren't doing their job as well as they should.

Going to the point of praising them, maybe not but, to say they aren't doing their jobs just because they haven't addressed every weak position is rediculous.

The season is 5 months away. How can they be judged when we haven't even drafted yet? They don't feel that the WR's in the FA market are what we want or need. I think going young is the right way to go.

After the draft there will be more Free Agents that come available on 1 June. If we don't have adaquate competition at the WR spot by Training camp then I am with you on the "Not Doing Their Job" bandwagon. I personally don't believe we will ever get to that point.

Go Panthers

How many times has a team in the top 5 in annual payroll won a lombardi since the current division format was implemented? How many of those top 5 payroll teams evem reached the conference championship games?

That's why I said until they make a real attempt. Right now, nothing worthy of praise for the front office. I definitely feel like we will address our weaknesses in the months to come (be it through the draft or free agency or trades), but until then, I don't see anything worthy of praise.
