Mel Kiper is such a dumbass

Meh, all this means is that we wont select any of those players. Can anyone tell who the last player the Panthers selected that Kiper predicted we would select (that didn't involve us trading back into the first round to get Otah)?

Yeah, me neither..

Yeah, me neither..

Has any team drafted who he said they should in the last few years?

If we're going to use our 2nd round pick on a DT, why don't we just trade it to the Skins for Haynesworth?

I don't see us bringing in an expensive guy for a position that is actually a second thought in a Meeks's scheme. Sorry, Haynesworth would be better off in Detroit reunited with Jim Schwartz. Fat Albert's attitude sux too. He reminds me of Pepper's. Greedy and takes plays off if he is not rode constantly.

alualu= undersized DT

Alualu= Chris Harris on the line

Alualu plays with a reckless abandon on the field. He seems to always be in the right place at the right time, and he is already to make a big play. Alualu has great size—6’2” 290 lbs.—to either play at a 4-3 defensive tackle, 4-3 defensive end, or even a 3-4 defensive end. This versatility has general managers foaming at the mouth to jump on the Cal product.

Alualu was also great at pumping up his teammates. He showed this ability in the Senior Bowl, where he often appeared to be the leader of North’s defense. Alualu also impressed scouts with his stellar play—he recovered a fumble and had many tackles—and he also played both defensive end and defensive tackle. Alualu should provide a team with versatility and a love for the game of football.

He could become a steal in the second or third round, and he could possibly give just as much production as Tyson Jackson in the NFL. Often, players who work as hard as Alualu will have very successful careers in football.

I don't see us doing it either... but it might make sense. DT is just as important in Meeks tampa-2 scheme as in any other 43 scheme, he just prefers smaller/faster guys.

Hmmmm....let's see. How about the fact that he is lazy and unmotivated when not in a contract year. How about the fact that his contract is RIDICULOUS.

That is all.

Actually, I completely agree with Kipers 1st pick. The rest is crap.

Tyson Alualu is a very high motor guy, plays with good leverage for his size, can rotate at DT and DE (he may actually fit better at DE in the NFL), is a natural leader and fighter, and a guy that totally fits into Meeks' system and this organization's philosophy. If the Patriots don't take him a few picks ahead of us, it definitely wouldn't be surprising if he is the our next Carolina Panther.

lol @ the OP. You're the one who should reflect. Safety was the biggest need the year Minter left and we didn't draft one till the 7th round. You're buying into positional needs waaaaaay too much. Only the worse drafting teams get so caught up in their positional needs. Talent first.
