Trade DeWill to Lions for #2

i see your standpoint... and agree with hopin tampa doesnt get suh lol. yes we do have an elite back in Jstew that is certain, but he hasnt went a season without injury problems. in that case...i'd rather be insured that our run game stays in tact and our DT problems are addressed...differently sumhow.

Yea jstew has had injury problems even coming out of college, but that doesn't stop him from getting on the field and giving his all. A few games has he shown that the injuries have bothered him, but that's what his surgery this offseason was for...to fix whatever problems he has in his foot. I think that Alualu can boost our D-line drastically and wouldn't mind taking him in the second and WR in the third. But somewhere in the draft id want to pick up Shipley.

The production of Dwill was the reason why Jstew played the way that he did. But lets say, we rely on Sutton/Goodson to back stew if Dwill is gone. It Wont be the same, he will have more carries than what he had with Dwill, unless his backup is of the same calibur(doubt it). If im recallin rite, they took him out of one of the last games of this season because of problems he was having due to the amount of handoffs he was taking. U cud say this vice versa about Dwill and his ankle this year but they keep eachother healthy with the split of carries.(hopefully the surgery is sucessful w/ Stew tho) Alualu is a beast! i'd love to see him on our Dline also, as far as Shipley is concerned. Cant say i would kno, i rarely watch Texas play.

a lot of people are saying we can't keep both backs, but why not? it's really up to deangelo and jonathan. they seem happy with the team now. if they want to go somewhere else to get paid more then that's their prerogative, but it's not certain that will happen. they really seem to be in to their roles at the moment.

:iagree:

Having a name like "puntjake" make you seem troll prone, add dumbass posts and its hard not to say something that walks and talks like a duck isnt actually a duck.

i'm sorry... what? you were actually born into this world? you do realize that people have crazy ideas sometimes, but it doesn't mean you have to bash them. i've read several other responses on here that all seem like legit answers, except for this trash... why can't people get along in this world anymore?

The last time the lions mattered they had a pretty nifty running back who was amazing to watch. Sometimes Williams looks a little like him. Detroit could easily use a 1000 yard back. They would be lucky to get him if we wanted to let him go for an unproven rookie who will cost us way too much than we want to spend. Potentially 35 or 40 million in guaranteed money. Of course if it went for a top quarterback, it might be worth it. Unless of course we didn't want to overshadow Moore, we will wait to get a project. If we gave up that much to a backup what would we have to pay the starter? Can't ever see that much money tied up in one position.

Never happen.

Williams will be 30 in a couple years and we all know what happens to running backs at that age. Would you rather have a stud DT for the next 10 years or a stud RB for only a few? No offense but its really the other way around. Its the panthers that would be lucky if Detroit was crazy enough to offer the #2 pick in a trade.

ok. he'll be 30 soon, spent 2 years ridin the pine cuzza Fox's beliefs in veterans. then once he starts he's splittin carries with Stew. i think the damage he has taken in his career affects his ability to perform more than his age. Im not sure but i think Thomas Jones's(31 yrs. old) career start was similar and he was starting in a top 5 rushing offense last season.

Stewart was the 1st RB in forever to go over 100 on the Vikings, he went for 200 on the Giants......DWill didn't create that for him. I don't think we should trade Williams.....both will have longer careers being together. However, either one of those RBs could put up a 1600 yard season, 15 TDs if they got the full load. I think Stewart is the type RB who does better w/ more carries...DWill can go off anytime.

True but its very rare for a running back to still be that productive in his 30's like TJ was. Williams probably at best has 5 good productive years left in him. Again, would you rather have a stud DT for the next 10 + years or a stud running back for only a few?

Agreed Actually... So Good Point.

I jus believe that Dwill helped Stew to do that because of him being able to rest more in the earlier part of the season to preserve him to do well in the stretch against the teams u mentioned. and if his injury started to irritate him later on in the season from him taking carries at full load, i dont kno wat to expect from him for a WHOLE season.

Though i am hoping the surgery does him well. As far as which Back i think wud be better with more carries, im not sure. lol. although Stew is bigger, Dwills vision and decision making is better(IMO), so also being a smart runner cud make him a great option with more carries.

Someone wants to have a red rep meter.

I did my part.

why would that give me neg reps? it's a legit proposal. you may not agree with it but not agreeing with a suggestion shouldn't warrant neg reps.

Because this has been proposed in separate threads like 3 times in a month.
