Panthers signed CB Brian Witherspoon

I don't have a clue? Every time they pick up a scrub from a poor team....if I acted like he was the cure to our weakness? Would that mean I have a clue?

Name me a legit NFL return man w/ at least 75 kick returns...... who has zero TDs....and only one he broken for 50 or more. If you aren't uberly overly optimistic around here...that makes you an idiot I guess.

that kid isn't a legit returner. He hasn't shown to be one in the NFL. What is your definition of legit? Returning kicks and not being horrible?

Return man has been a need for yearS. Carolina needs a return man. They should get one. Quit hoping to find a diamond in the rough that might work out.

Witherspoon ranked #23 in KRs for returners with at least 20 returns. The highest average out of that bunch was Clifton Smith who returned 31 times for 29.1 average. Witherspoons average: 23.7 / Suttons average: 21.6

He ranks #9 in PRs for returners with at least 5 returns. The higheest average out of that bunch was Desaun Jackson with 28 returns for a 15.3 average. Witherspoons average: 11.1 / Munnerlyns average: 8.7

Also remember he was with the Lions, so both of those rankings could be better with us.

You have no clue what you are talking about.

LOL AWESOME... I always pick him up for a late rounder or scrub fodder that's already on the Panthers roster and make him the returner.

The guy has 98 speed on Madden... Excellent.

I pick up Kevin Robinson for this purpose, 99 return rating.

well, if he is legit...then he will start for us and have success.....and everyone will deem him a legit return man. i'll bump this mid season so you can tell me "I told you so".

not sure what "he played for the Lions" means.....the Lions have had better return teams than Carolina over the past 5 seasons. There probably isn't a team in the NFL you could say has been worse in that department than Carolina the past half decade. So based on recent history of Carolina special teams.......those rankings could have been worse with us.

When you look at the way the Panthers like to arrange their gameday roster (active/inactive) a corner with return ability actually makes more sense than a receiver.

Will he be the guy? Don't know, but it's to their benefit if someone at this position does.

Nothing amuses me more than people that get excited for these scrubs that get signed. So many of you guys have Stockholm's Syndrome, it's amazing.

Several Huddlers said the same things about Brayton when we got him & now many of them eat their words.. For all we know, Witherspoon could do better here. I'll wait & see how he does before I label him a scrub or crap or whatever. :P
