anquan was pick number 54 in the second round and marshall was pick 118 in the fourth round. anquan is 30 as a side note. it is entirely possible we get a player of their caliber with our picks.
excellent points. i would love for us to pick a WR in the 2nd and 4th rounds...maybe we can luck up. after all...we were pretty horrible about selecting RBs until we got deangelo and then really didn't know what we had until we got stewart. i'd say we were pretty good about picking them now. that could change in regards to WR as well.
Boldin has been pouting about his contract for 3 years, hasn't been able to stay on the field due to getting hurt, and will be 30 before the mid point of the season.

Holmes will be suspended for 4 games, more if his legal issues turn the wroing way and has admitted to problem quitting smoking weed which could land him another 1 year suspension.

Marshall, like Boldin has been pouting like a 3 year old and clashing with coaches. Add in that he already has had a 3 game suspension for violations of the personal conduct policy.

Ginn cost the 9ers a 5th round pick. If only his family was more help, but alas, they can't join him on the field. He's a 1 trick pony not worth our 4th before the draft.

i agree with all of that. not wanting to deal with a ton of baggage or a one dimensional kick off return specialist with a high price tag (considering the duties)....i can understand that. that doesn't mean not wanting to fork out the money. it's deciding that the cost involved in acquiring and keeping these players were not worth it. boldin is the only one that i would have made an exception for...maybe marshall but i'm not upset at all about not having him around.

Ted Ginn is terrible.
charles-barkley-dui-suns-blow-job.jpg...turrable.
I can understand not going after all of them..except for Boldin...
agreed. i really wanted him here. the price tag was not too high. i dont think that will come back and bite us in the butt that we didn't get him but i still wich we would have. i've moved on, though.
Please all of you dumbf**ks who are making these "Cheap" threads go f**king kill yourselves.
not exactly how i would have phrased it but....kermit-bale-nod.gif

They should be able to get a quality receiver in the second. Hope they go that route with that pick. I wanted Bouldin in the second round in '03, but he is injured a lot. A rookie should be able to come in and be a better receiver than Ginn right away. Marshall is good, but I'm glad we didn't go in that direction and pay him what Miami did. Holmes, well, he's a piece, wouldn't touch him. It says a lot about Ginn and Holmes, both former first round guys, only worth a fifth round pick now.

i could name at least six or seven players in this year's draft that will be available with our #48 pick... or even at #78 that are all better than these washed up, retarded receivers you've listed above. young talent is the way to go... especially since we've drafted so well in the past few years.

Picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue....

Someone loves multiples of three....

Not necessarily. It could have been a random event

We need more than 1 WR...we could have traded for Boldin and still drafted WR

yeah, ok... cause we don't have other pressing needs at all. we'll just trade away a couple of picks for a guy who will be productive for all of about five seasons. cause we don't need youth at the wide receiver spot, nor depth on the defensive line, or offensive line, or at linebacker, or at safety, or at quarterback... i mean, you know, we'll just have half a team, with a couple of talented wide receivers... we'll definitely make it to the playoffs then. matter of fact... let's just trade away our entire team  and just have boldin, moore, and smith... just those three players, against 11. see if we can make a run for the super bowl then.

Talk about youth until your blue in the face but when that youth is Colbert, Carter, and Jarrett (and these are the stars of the class) your argument start to disappear. Bottom line in every round this FO has tried it failed to find a good receiver (Smith the gift from Siefiert that keeps on giving).
