Sanders Mic'ed up

Was really impressed with his vocal leadership. Here I am at home contemplating excitement because of draft pick but winning could help create a culture now that the entire O is young. Sanders, XL, Coker, Brooks is a nice core behind our OL regardless of what we do with Chubba. Just need a QB. Whether that is Bryce turning it around or Canales getting his guy, I like what we are building on O.

Have we ever had a 4th round pick pan out?  It’s still super early but this draft class gives me hope.  Already with 4 contributors in XL,TW,JT and JC and a possible 5th in Brooks would make this the most successful draft class in franchise history.

(I’m not saying it produced the best players just the best hit rate)

Sanders has the right mentality I knew that from how he spoke after we drafted him. Hopefully the young core can keep building their confidence and chemistry with one another. Now they just need to stay in games and keep competing.

these young bucks are ready to win.  Looks like one of our best drafts already.

and gets me more excited to see what Canales and Morgan can do with our bevy of picks next year.  Hopefully we'll use some to move up and get more quality to go along with our quantity.  We've got enough to do that.

    • He might have a lucky sack then crickets the rest of the game.
    • Panthers' Bryce Young took a significant step forward in Week 9 Bryce Young is back as the Carolina Panthers‘ starting quarterback, and he is fresh off his best performance of the season. It was an encouraging showing — one that resulted in only the Panthers' second win — for a young quarterback who was previously benched. Highest-Graded Quarterbacks in Week 9 Young finished Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints with a 77.8 PFF overall grade, his highest grade this season and the third-highest of his career. His stat line doesn’t look overly impressive, but a major reason for that is his two big-time throws being dropped and intercepted — two unlucky plays that would have made his box score better reflect his performance. There’s no hiding that the Panthers' offense has struggled with Young under center. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick looked lost and broken in his first two starts of 2024, but after five weeks as a backup, he seems to have found his confidence again, putting together his two best performances of the season since returning to helm the offense. It took until the second quarter for the Panthers' offense to get going in Week 9, but a big third-down conversion led to their first touchdown of the game. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-carolina-panthers-bryce-young-significant-step-forward-week-9
    • This is likely a loss. Just look at the stats of their last game; 26 pass attempts versus 31 runs. Daboll knows well enough not to put everything on Daniel Jones. They'll likely stick to that ratio and only have Jones throw a safe pass or two along with a scramble. A big factor with the Saints is that we somehow found a way to stop their first two drives from being touchdowns, and even forced a three and out or two. That's going to be really hard to replicate, and regardless of QB, we just lack enough offensive power to get into a shootout, especially with our O-line not at full strength. I kinda expect our line to utter collapse and Canales utterly refusing to not go pass happy against a defense much more suseptible to the run. But hey, I'd like to be proven wrong. Maybe Canales will decide to throw Brooks out there for his debut and we end up with the reincarnation of Double Trouble. If we somehow win, that's my guess on how.
