he needs to be suspended for a long time so no one forgets about what he really did..as soon as he gets on the field it will be a story of redemption like Tiger Woods or Kobe Bryant..everyone just magically forgets..

In all likelihood, there will be a s--tstorm from the Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson crowd if he's not punished on a par with guys like Vick and Pac Man. And this is one of the few times when I can say I'd actually agree with them.

:iagree:

If it turns out Roethlisberger did rape one or more women, Michael Vick will look like a saint by comparison.

He wasn't even charged, meaning he has already gotten away or was not guilty of the crimes he was accused of, so I don't see how the NFL could give him more than a couple games. They're going to review the facts and definately do something, but not enough to scare away a team that needs a great QB.

The Steelers are cutting bait, because they are not going to stand behind someone of his character. Rothlisberger is worth a #1 and then some. He's won 2 superbowls and he is young. I see the Rams or Buffalo pulling the trigger.

The draft is here and the statements made were pretty telling. The Steelers and the NFL will wait until after the draft to do anything with Rothlisberger, leaving me to believe he will be traded.

And what exactly was Pac Man convicted of?

(Hint: He wasn't)

Any team that'd trade a #1 for Ben right now has an absolute idiot as a GM.

Pac Man has been charged with several crimes and covicted of a felony.

Rothlisberger was not charged of a crime. It's hard to do anything to him if he wasn't even charged. I think he's crap, but he apparently knows how to get away with rape without getting charged.

I just realized he's the NFL's Glenn Quagmire from Family Guy...and both of em get away with it all.

it isn't hard for the NFL to do anything to him......the NFL's policies and rules are completely seperate from the legal system. That is like saying YOUR employer can't act unless you legally commited a crime.

You trade a 2nd for him right now, and sit him for 8 games, not from the NFL, but the team.

By then it will be November ish, this will all have blown over, and you have a top 10 QB locked up for 6 more years.

I do not like him, nor do I like his QBing style, but that is certainly not a bad move to make as a GM.

Suspending a guy for accusations.

Ben's case is nothing like PacMan, Vick & stallworth.

Pacman, had a laundry list of citations & arrests, before he was suspended As well as Chris Henry

Vick, Guilty on Fed Charges

Stallworth, Guilty DUI

Even Burress had multiple gun charges against him

Roethlisberger, a pending civil suit, & accusations, Conduct detrimental to league/team is a grey area IMO, what constitutes that to warrant a suspension?, so far its been players who have had multiple arrests/ convictions or a guilty plea

I can see maybe the team taking action, but not the league. I don't know, maybe we will see a new precedent set were a player can be suspended not for multiple arrests or being found guilty but for multiple accusations.

IMO I don't see it happening

You don't suspend him for accusations. You suspend him for the negative attention he brought to the NFL if you are Goodell and the negative attention he brought to the Steelers if you are the Rooneys.

Ben did go out to these nightclubs full of underage kids, with a posse, bought drinks for them, and had sex in a public establishment......those are facts.....facts he admits to. Also, none of that appears to be a one time occurance.........even he didn't rape a girl.....what BUSINESS wants that kind of guy to be face or a face of the NFL or team. If a guy from my company went out and acted like that....and it became public knowledge it would hurt out small business.....and he would have to be dealt with.
