Agree. I'm sick of us giving away picks the last 2 yrs. Plus, he will clearly be a backup. I don't want to trade picks for a backup.

As much as you guys hated how the FO put all their eggs in one basket with Jake, they are apparently going to do the same with Matt. As the article stated, the FO doesn't want Matt looking over his shoulder and the very reason they got rid of Jake. In other words, we may bring in a veteran QB, just not one capable of overtaking Moore as the starter, leaving Campbell out of the equation.

Jake still failed even with seemingly no competition. Why wouldn't they want to inspire a little competition? These guys are professionals. Shouldn't competition breed higher performance?

If not, then neither guy is worth anything to begin with.

Work ethic was never the problem. He worked as hard as he could, regardless of whether anyone was behind him or not.

The notion that someone behind him would have made a difference just doesn't hold water.

Wasn't Fox reluctant to put Moore in because of low work ethic? I don't know, I just don't see how having a solid back up option is a bad idea.
