Mingo got more in return than Dionte Johnson did?!?! Leave Dan Morgan alone, he knows what he is doing!

Panthers are run by Tepper.  Cowboys are run by Jerry.  I chalk this up to two idiotic owners meeting up vs Dan Morgan being savvy.  Because nothing about Dan says Dan is a good deal maker.

We probably should only deal w/ the Cowboys, Raiders, etc.

The draft trade to get a future 2nd was a nice trade too. There has been some bad ones too no doubt.

Mingo never looked good out there seems like a great athlete attempting to play the WR position Jalen Coker is half the athlete but a natural WR

Mingo is pretty damn good at blocking. IMO, he plays more like a special teams 4th or 5th WR on your roster than a 2nd round pick starter.

For a 4th is a haul considering what other WRs have been going for

Dan fleeced Jerry Jones

side note:  Fitterer’s last 2 draft look historically bsd

When you realize that Mrs. Rhule had the input on our best draft pick value of 2021-2023, it’s scary how bad that guy really was.

“Among others”

Listen. I like Dan Morgan a great deal on a personal level. I very much want him to be successful here.

But can we agree that a solid house cleaning should have been in order after navigating some of the worst drafts the last few years that even made Marty Hurney look vaguely competent by comparison?

My personal feeling is rearranging staff is basically delaying the inevitable. If others don't agree hey no problem. But we have had the worst win percentage in all of professional sports the last few years. We can trade players away all we want. We still have to prove we can actually draft competently going forward.

A extra 4th in this draft is big. Trust me.

Grabbing another 2nd or 3rd would be a slam dunk.

It should be an early 4th too, there is always still talent around there that makes you scratch your head why they aren't picked yet.

Fitterer’s last 2 drafts

Ickey is literally the only NFL player from these 2 drafts, and he's hanging onto a starting role by a thread. Just atrocious. And made even worse by Bryce also costing an extra 1st overall pick + more. Still feeling the effects next year not having our 2nd that will certainly be in the 30s.

    • Yeah I'm not into college as much, so I admit not to having my own opinion about him coming out. But strictly watching ESPN shows, and going off of commentary at the time..It was a lot more 50/50 even on this board than what people like to remember and admit.  Yes many people had doubts and questions, but MANY people also thought he could possibly be the one. I was only versed enough to know that it was between he and CJ, but most pundits made it sound like either way we had a QB of the future, just different skillsets/traits.
    • Jonathan Mingo to the Cowboys Cowboys receive: WR Jonathan Mingo, 2025 seventh-round pick Panthers receive: 2025 fourth-round pick  Dallas Cowboys: C Leave it to Jerry Jones to wait until after Dak Prescott is injured to go after another receiver. To be fair, the Dallas Cowboys have a real need for the position. CeeDee Lamb is a superstar, but Jalen Tolbert and Brandin Cooks haven't been the needle movers that the Cowboys were hoping for. Making a trade for a receiver wasn't a bad move, but the player that the Cowboys gave up three rounds of value to acquire is questionable. Jonathan Mingo checked a lot of physical and athletic boxes as the 40th-overall pick in 2023. Unfortunately, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound wideout has struggled to be a productive receiver at the NFL level. Some of that has to do with playing for the Carolina Panthers, but Mingo has seriously lacked efficiency at the position. Mingo has yet to record his first NFL touchdown, catching 55 passes for 539 yards. Per TruMedia, he has just 0.74 yards per route run in his career, which ranks 177th out of 186 receivers with at least 50 targets since the start of the 2023 season.Even though Mingo fills a need, that's a lot of value to give up for a receiver that's struggled so much at the NFL level. The good news is that he still has a couple more years on his rookie deal, so at least the Cowboys are getting a cheap developmental project to learn from a star like Lamb. Carolina Panthers: A Instead of trying to hold onto Mingo, the Panthers took what they could get, and that turned out to be way more than expected. Mingo quickly became expendable thanks to the rapid ascension of rookie receiver Xavier Legette. Along with a larger-than-life personality, Legette has hauled in 26 catches for 244 yards and four touchdowns. Three of those touchdowns have come in the last four games, with Legette becoming more and more of a focal point in Carolina's offense. For a team that needs to capitalize as much as possible on draft assets, moving up three rounds in the draft to move on from a disappointing draft pick feels like an absolute win. https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-trade-deadline-2024-grading-every-move/
