I think its more of a just in case measure... doubt they actually move him for cap reasons. Could be wrong, but i doubt it.

I also think he probably knows who is starting (probably Bryce) but wants to keep our opponents guessing.

True. But apparently he has more drama to deal with. There is a reason they took what they did for Johnson and we may never hear about it but I'm sure it was justified in their minds.
