You keep saying that. Maybe you are right, I do not have that trust.

edit: two years of excuses have me feeling like that, and there are some being built in as we speak with the defense and the depleted WR corps now.

There's no excuses now. Either he earns it or he doesn't. I'm not worried other than whether they can find a better option going forward.

Agreed there isn’t a clear 1 in the pass rushers. If we trade down he might be an option.

Ive been on the trade down train all year.  Its the only option in my mind.  Just load up on rookies and hope some hit.  I am trying to remember what it feels like to not be red lining the cap year after year after year.  Clear the books and then build the team.  No since in paying folks since we are not close anyway

There was no one open. What did you want him to do?

3rd down we are punting if nothing happens. So throw a punt if you have to. Like the one that he threw earlier that was caught.

Or throw where only the target has a chance, maybe it is incomplete but throwing ob is just giving up.

Over and over we have watched him bail out and do stuff like that. It isn't like it was just this one time.

You only don’t trade down in 2 scenarios IMO. There is a QB you love at your pick and he won’t be there later or there aren’t any decent offers.

Just saying, when you use 'ifs' to build up the positive without adding in the negative 'ifs' to counterbalance, you get that optimistic picture.

If you take the 'if' thing and apply it to the negatives that didn't happen but could have, you probably have two interceptions and their consequences to include in the equation.

Fair but my ifs are less excuse making and more "he played better than his stats show". Much like we played way worse as a team than the score shows. We got absolutely fugin dominated lol. We got bailed out by some luck and a couple really big drive killing plays made by high individual effort on the defensive side. This absolutely could've been a two TD loss if not for the defense showing up between our 40 and 50.

We did get some guys back on defense, it helped. It also helped that the Saints' OL is in shambles. Well, it was two weeks ago and I don't think it got better; that helped us too.

What was the stat, 275 and 0 with the stats someone showed? Lol.

Playing that 'if' game, you just have to take all the 'ifs' into account. Those were some prime opportunities missed by NO. The rainbow that someone caught I forget who, was pretty iffy also. But I think it  is the only way he can get over, just have to gamble and throw those balls out there because the little screens and everything ain't cutting it.

Their game plan was down right stupid.  Allen stopped running the ball when they were getting 5+ yards every play.  The long pass on the last drive was like he was trying to get fired.

this observation is going make me very popular on the Huddle--can't wait for the love and positive reactions.  It is about the QB school video here and something my eagle-like eye noticed--not about Bryce.  About Ian Thomas.

I was not watching him, but there were a few plays I saw him as a flanker or something and he went in motion and blocked the edge.  Twice I was watching Bryce and the overall protection, and I said to myself, "Self, who the hell was that motioning over and manhandling that Edge rusher?" At first i was like, "No way!"  Then I saw him do something similar again.  A TE in motion stonewalling an edge is no small feat. Watch the tape again and tell me what you think.  I did not watch him the entire time--but he caught my eye when I was watching something else.  Like when you are at the beach and inspecting a 6, wondering if she is possibly a 7 in the right lighting, and a 9 cuts in front of you.  You are like, "Dang."

Yet a couple of games back, was it Chicago or Washington, maybe both but his 'blocking' led to tackles for loss and sacks and stuff. I am happy for him if he got it right once.

I saw that too--but I want to give credit where it is due.  I he gets waived or put on the PS---nobody is picking him up.  Gotta bring it every down, but that was surprising and I think we owe it to each other and ourselves to be as objective as we can regarding opinions.  If it were up to me, I would cut him---fwiw
