Did you?

But yes Davidson, I did the see the play. It’s not like his passes are easy to miss from a velocity standpoint.

I also saw the play in the first half where Bryce shot putted a ball to the flat that XL got creamed on. He then came off the field, clearly in pain, and needed help getting his left glove off.

Did you see that play? Or do you just think things that happen earlier in the game don’t impact things that happen later?

I’m not a Bryce apologist, but this is an awful take on that particular play. XL was not blown up at all. The DB just ripped the ball out of his hands as XL was going down. It was actually a beautifully thrown “in the bucket” ball.

The DB also had a fistful of XL's jersey as the pass was coming in.  Could've been a PI.

I thought it was PI because it seemed the defender never turned around, but was very handsy with XL.

Much of what's being said reminds me a great deal of what the reaction was after the Packers game last year where Bryce looked the best he ever had versus one of the worst defenses in the league and one whose defensive coordinator was getting a lot of criticism at the time. The next game Bryce looked awful and we got taken to the woodshed by a Jaguars team starting their backup quarterback.

Too many similarities to that instance to get much of anything from this win. Need to see irrefutable production and progress against better teams.

100%. Bryce apologists seem to ignore the full context of the situation

Ahh, I forgot about the hand thing.  You have a good point but I do see the confusion from your first post.  It read like you meant XL got blasted on the “int”.

Youre right the hand most likely played a big part in why the DB was able to wrestle that ball away.  But the pass itself was the most accurate downfield pass I’ve seen from the little feller.

Still not a Bryce believer, defenses are going to be better than the Saints from here on out.

Would've liked to see it on the outside shoulder where the defender isn't, particularly given the room that Legette had between him and the sideline, but while that's a bit of nitpicking it would have precluded this outcome. Also nitpicking in that he could have settled his feet and didn't have to keep moving, but even with those it was a quality throw and the DB made a great play.

I caught a lot of poo in the game day thread for a similar thought lol. It was a good throw but if it had been placed ahead of XL where he could extend his arms to catch instead of having to trap it against his shoulder/chest area the ball wouldn’t have been in the defenders reach to rip away. Good throw, but coulda been better.

Overall, I think Bryce played fine. A mix of good plays and bad plays. The biggest difference is that I think he played with a lot more confidence and actually tried to trust his receivers to make a play. He took shots and trusted his receivers to go and get it, ex. Sanders Hail Mary, drop by Moore, Legette Int. I think Dalton showed him that you can still make a play and receivers aren't going to be college open.

Yes we played against a bad Saints defense but our team was also super banged up too. I honestly expect Bryce to struggle against the Giants defense. Their team is #1 in the league in sacks at 35 total. I don't think our O-line is going to hold up against their pass rushers and Bryce will struggle with pressure.

Thats something I have to fully agree with. Ive seen Bryce throw up some scary hospital balls to his intended receivers at times over the past couple seasons.

That floater he threw to legette which caused him to take that hit and get injured was cringe. This is what we talk about with the ceiling....if he is throwing passes like that as the franchise player than we have problems. And we are not even at the point where we absolutely need him to get wins.

Yeah those simply have to stop NOW. Can't develop young receivers or tight ends if they are injured from floating hospital passes

There’s probably a reason that legette couldn’t hold on to the ball, and it’s because he got lit up waiting for one of Bryce’s blimps to come down.

protecting wide receivers is another skill Bryce completely lacks.

You mean like olave?
