Can We Not Over React to This One Game??

I'm already seeing a ton of people celebrating like we just won the super bowl and Bryce Young just won MVP.

Bryce had a decent game, against a team that owns the longest losing streak in the NFL. Great! He threw 1 TD, 1 INT , 171 yards (yes I KNOW the int was  not his fault  the Bryce stands are screaming this at the top of their lungs repeatedly) . I know XL and D.Moore had big down field drops. But those are part of the game.

I personally liked the fact that he seemed to trust the oline more and threw down field shots. Yes.

But can we not act like he threw 500 yards and 6 TDs??? Can you just say it's somewhat encouraging but need to see more?

Lets see how he does against better competition. Let's see if he can do well against the Cheifs, Eagles, and Falcons before we crown him the king of Carolina.

I think he's had close to 20 games played now. I think he had decent games in the wins last year with the game winning drives. A great Packers game. This game he played decent. So that's 3 decent, one great. 4 positive games vs 16 bad or atrocious ones.

I feel like I just want to be the voice of reason here but people get so hot and emotional over 1 game. I see content creators who are known Bryce fans screaming for joy and known Bryce detractors moaning in sour mood.

Let's just say he had decent game and see if he can do it again.

We literally got shut out twice after that Packers game last year.

I don’t think anyone actually thinks this, people are just enjoying the rare W. I still want Bryce gone asap.

Bryce Young this season as of right now:

128 pass attempts

60.2 completion %

694 yards

3 touchdowns

6 interceptions

5.4 yards per attempt

If he plays the rest of the season and significantly improves these numbers across the board against better competition I will begin to feel some semblance of hope going forward. Until then those are backup numbers at best.

It's not even so much an indictment on Huddlers. Some other places online people are doing victory laps like Bryce just Led us to beating the Cheifs 70-0 in the super bowl

That's all I'm trying to say !! I'm personally waiting for him to have a game with multi td no int and 250 yards. At least once.

twitter is the worst and those morons mac and bone on wfnz are back to being lunatic homers.

Bryce should keep starting but there is not a realistic path where he is on the roster next season

So what's the appropriate reaction? To say nothing? To shout Bryce is the best qb ever? To say he's still a bust he didn't do Jack poo? Where are you going with this

Maybe ignore things that seem to trigger you?  I do not live my life trying to get others to conform to my way of thinking so I don't know what to tell you other than just ignore it.

Who is "ya'll"?

Aren't you the same one that unabashedly admits he jumped ship after we released Cam?

Our QB room as a whole is CHEEKS. The sooner you realize and admit that and stop trying to polish a turd the better off you'll be.

Has there been a reason to root for this team since Cam? You yourself are rooting against a young black QB. That’s kinda against your brand isn’t it Mr. Red?

That's where the disconnect is. You perceive stating the reality of the situation as rooting against him.

Oh now we're talking race huh? I never saw or heard one single peep out of you while CJ Stroud was getting dragged through the mud predraft for things such as his upbringing or his character. I was there recognizing it for what it was. Didn't see you.

Bryce will never be a star,  but some things he did gave me hope he could be a game manager.(I know that’s not what you want from your #1pick) Yesterday’s game made me feel the defense was a bigger issue than his tiny arm. We still suck and think we only can beat the Giants if we win the turnover battle. I’m just going to enjoy wearing my Panthers polo at work today. A lot of saints fans down here in Birmingham.

If this was Teddy / Sam / Baker this place would have been: "we won despite the mediocre QB play, he will never lead us to the promise land".

Statwise, he wasn't even mediocre (he just didn't look terrible).

For week 9 (and these don't include tonights game so he will likely be be bumped down two spots in each category)

  • QB Rating 24th
  • Yards 23rd
  • TD 18th
  • Completions 24th

I’m on a few places, you saying this is the only place I’m seeing any of this. Yeah people are going to over react, but whatever?

Don’t give everything so much attention, rarely is any of it worth it.

Perhaps I'm just dumb but I don't see one Bryce stand. I see some people saying he played better than usual which is true but still doesn't cut it long term and he would have to step it up further to be the guy moving forward. I think where you are mistaken is where people are saying he deserves some more games to see what he can do. I can go along with that idea because it's a throw away season where we have to see what we have form many players. We invested way too much to get Bryce so here in the second half of the season we might as well give him his last go at it and see if he can improve week by week while showing he has the mindset and aggressive downfield attack he needs to have if he wants to start next season. Will be be able to? I seriously doubt it but we might as well with nothing to lose this season and if he underperforms as I believe he will then trade him for whatever we can in the off-season and move on.
