Can We Not Over React to This One Game??

Bryce played good, I also know this team isn’t that talented and to expect him to go out there and throw for 300 yards and 4 TD vs a good team is unrealistic, his 3 main targets right now are 3 rookies, how Many QBs in the nfl can make it work? Only a handful.

Perhaps I'm just dumb but I don't see one Bryce stand. I see some people saying he played better than usual which is true but still doesn't cut it long term and he would have to step it up further to be the guy moving forward. I think where you are mistaken is where people are saying he deserves some more games to see what he can do. I can go along with that idea because it's a throw away season where we have to see what we have form many players. We invested way too much to get Bryce so here in the second half of the season we might as well give him his last go at it and see if he can improve week by week while showing he has the mindset and aggressive downfield attack he needs to have if he wants to start next season. Will be be able to? I seriously doubt it but we might as well with nothing to lose this season and if he underperforms as I believe he will then trade him for whatever we can in the off-season and move on.

I would give you a clue, look for the poo left on people's posts that are 'anti' Bryce. That might be a stan.

Isn't that Gippeto? I don't think he is a total Bryce stand but even if so, that is one. There just aren't many of those like it or not. I'm not sure if its the same guy but someone on here is forever saying those exact words calling out so many "Bryce stands" but where the hell are they? There just are not that many if any.

A lot won't show up until he does something I don't know Gipetto. I know we have a solid two out the twenty-thirty people that regularly post and you can find them by following the poo at he bottom of Bryce criticism or non fanhood type posts.

They are the hardcores, most have either faded and won't engage without a favorable Bryce climate.

I don't consider myself a stan but I still think dude needs to start some more and if he does not show weekly improvement ship his ass out once and for all. Some of the anti Bryce people (I am pretty much) consider someone a stan if they don't blame every single last thing on Bryce even if he wasn't even on the field from what I see sometimes but we all see things from our own biased point of view I understand and realize of course.

I don't blame every last thing on BY, but at this point, my genuine concern is play whoever is best to develop our other talent on offense.

It seems to bother some of you more if this team wins rather than losing. Maybe you should stop looking for something to offend yourself over?

Lol you're exactly right. I havent read through the whole thread yet, but there are some who really do hate to see people happy about a freaking game. Maybe they are mad because they desperately want that #1 pick. I'm thinking it's mostly anger that people are happy about something they.think you shouldn't be happy about. Simple as that.

Remember that alot of those passing yards came after the catch. I know that is the norm for calculating passing yards....but in reality, maybe 100 yards through the air.

Well using this metric do we add the 40 yards and the touchdown dropped. And do we add the yards and take away the interception from Bryce's stats? You talking like 80-90 yards a touchdown and an interception on 2 plays

Bryce honestly played great yesterday. Bryce looked like a different guy out there. There is no reason to not start him the rest of the season now. My only complaint was that he drifted back to his right again on the 2pt conversion play gifting Chase Young a sack. He’s got to stop doing that.

Dave Canales looked like our biggest problem yesterday. The play calling was atrocious. The fact Jalen Coker wasn’t on the field a lot more is mind boggling. I assume they’re trying to give Miles a chance to show literally anything so they can trade him but enough is enough. The 3 screens after that late Saints score was something.

Im very pro tank but I’m ok with winning yesterday because it was mainly all the young guys contributing. The Saints are beyond awful but whatever.

The bar is real low if that was great. He was mid which is progress.

::sigh::

what about the 2 dropped ints?  What about the hospital balls?  You cannot play this game one sided

I don't know who that is currently. Dalton hasnt looked amazing his last couple outings and we know Bryce isnt the future and will probably at best make a backup QB one day if he improves. Change them out each game based on who is sucking the least maybe?

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
