Can We Not Over React to This One Game??

Perhaps I'm just dumb but I don't see one Bryce stand. I see some people saying he played better than usual which is true but still doesn't cut it long term and he would have to step it up further to be the guy moving forward. I think where you are mistaken is where people are saying he deserves some more games to see what he can do. I can go along with that idea because it's a throw away season where we have to see what we have form many players. We invested way too much to get Bryce so here in the second half of the season we might as well give him his last go at it and see if he can improve week by week while showing he has the mindset and aggressive downfield attack he needs to have if he wants to start next season. Will be be able to? I seriously doubt it but we might as well with nothing to lose this season and if he underperforms as I believe he will then trade him for whatever we can in the off-season and move on.

The majority of huddlers by and large are fair and objective, even the people that want Bryce out. I don’t see anyone that ‘hates’ Bryce.

So fair is fair. Objective.

Bryce has been canned ass all season. Saints are terrible, but we are terrible-er.

Yesterday he played a clean game. The third and long pickup to XL was the best throw I’ve seen him throw. He looked like he wanted to play. He walked the sidelines and engaged teammates. His decision making was improved.

His lack of arm strength was apparent on a few throws yesterday, some passes should have been picked. All QBs have those, so ok. His long throws were better but need more oomph.

I think Andy has been very good for him.

Bryce is still a galaxy away from what we need, but yesterday was a big improvement.

Yes this place loves to overreact. They were thinking playoffs when we beat the Raiders with Andy.

Agree with your assessment, encouraging but a long ways to go and he needs to prove he can keep getting better.

Man I feel like objectively Bryce is developing. QB's typically do not develop overnight. The ones that do are freaks. I think it's also fair to say that Bryce's ceiling is a lot lower than we thought it was.  Yesterday was one of his better games. His two best throws were not completed, but some of his poor throws got good results too.

The saints not even considering throwing it to Jaycee's side of the field was freaking awesome. Not sure even Josh Norman ever got that treatment.

Coker and XL will be part of the long term solution here. We have some solid young pieces.

Must get a pass rush somehow. That is a dire circumstance at the moment.

Even before the draft, BY was supposed to have the highest floor but had the lowest ceiling of the top 3. Just turned out that Stroud's floor was higher than Young's ceiling from the start.

    • What I really learned here is that the Carolina Panthers aren't anywhere near as bad as I initially thought they were earlier this year.  We've got a young and growing offense with some promising parts. But it still needs some tweaks and improvements.  We really still could still use a dominant #1 WR. But Chubba,  Legette, Coker,  and J.Sanders have generally looked decent. Bryce took a big leap after the benching. We can score enough points to keep pace with 2x defending super bowl champions, so offense isn't a huge issue. Main thing that needs improvement is defense. We sorely need a CB 2, and a number of new players at Dline and LB.  We're not quite as bad at edge with Wonnum showing promise.  But we definitely need 1 or 2 more edges Clowney is old.  Run D is probably worse prevailing theme these past couple years. We really need a good young stud or two to pair with Derrick Brown and another LB to pair up with Trevin Wallace. If Morgan and Canales can focus on rebuilding the defense this off-season and possibly going out and getting a #1 WR. This team could easily be somewhere around 7-10 to 10-7 and flirting with playoffs in 1 or 2 seasons. Overall this game has made me feel alot more positive about the direction of the team.
    • With our picks we need pass rush, lb, Safety, a speedster yac wr, o line depth and I still want a mid round qb. We got 9 picks and 8 in the first 5 rounds. If they pull Off another solid draft we be cooking.
    • We had one passing touchdown against the Giants and one passing touchdown against the Chiefs today. Yes a good backup can replicate that. And that is why Andy Dalton in significantly less games has the same number of 30 point outings as Bryce Young. I am on board with you guys about wanting to be hopeful for the future. Today was a good performance to build on especially at home. But let's please keep things in perspective. BTW the Bucs who honestly aren't even that good blew the doors off the Giants today after we went to overtime against them with 17 points. Again. Perspective.
