See above. Careful. There's some snowflakes around here who will poo your post just for mentioning his stat line.

Don't point out his 3rd down splits, 1st down passing production, redzone efficiency, passer rating, opening drives and clutch 4th down drives.

I'm learning about these new stat categories of 'moral victory drives', 'dealing touches', and 'improvement rating'. Can you help me find these categories and where Bryce ranks?

I feel we're in for at least 2 more 3 to 5 win seasons of this stan riding at the QB position. Apparently everyone is holding an "improving" Young back, and apparently the common factor of Young isn't holding everyone else back.

I agree with you on some things not others. Bryce has given me reason to believe in him as of late. At the same time there is no logical reason not to explore options for the QB room in the offseason. Especially if Canales can have this team competing the way they did on the road against the Eagles despite all our unfortunate circumstances with the roster.

I started out in the very beginning saying I didn't think bryce could play in the league AT ALL. I quickly said I was wrong about that after last season. Now Can he be a 10 year FRANCHISE QB best player on the team OR league kinda player? I'm still not sold on that.

I do think long as you have this o line and Chuba you can put bryce out there and compete. Lose any of those things and it's a wrap.

I'm of the opinion that if it's a situation where we have to put elite pieces around him to compete we might as well have healthy competition at QB in place as well.

He's not getting better. The defense is playing better. He is the same he has always been. It's not going to be any better.

I'm fine with starting him to confirm that. It's just ridiculous that everyone is acting like he is improving when his stats are literally the same they have always been.

This didn't age well....we shall see.

Bryce is 4-20 as a starter in the NFL. He’s looking better as of late but I mean, as it stands right now if he won 11 games the next 3 seasons he’d STILL have a losing record. Bryce might never have a winning record as a QB and still have a somewhat successful career, his career started that badly. We shall see is right but he still had a massive mountain to climb.

Bryce does not play defense or WR.  Today, the game was lost by XL, not Bryce--but you just (basically) blamed Young for the loss.  On the road against a good team that was favored by 2 TDs and we should have won if Legette catches that pass.  And last year, Bryce had 1 game (Green Bay) where he played at this level--yet he has played at a high level for the past 5-6 weeks.  That is a fair assessment--you do not have to win to improve.

If we're playing that game, Philly missed a gimme FG that would've made that last drive irrelevant and Eddy still would've had to make the XP. Point being that there are still deeper issues - 16 points is not good enough through 58 minutes fo football.

That said, I agree that wins are far from the only metric. The team appears to be doing what prior regimes could not, and that is looking a little better each week.

A 54 yard field goal for a guy that has missed all his 50 yard attempts this year is a gimme?

Ah, I misread the sheet - was a 52 yarder. Fair point, though still often made in the NFL not a gimme, and not for Jake Elliott. Neither was the catch that folks are deriding XL for not making.

I mean, that ball is routinely caught in the NFL.

16 points wasn't enough to win, but the gameplan was a winning formula and it was executed well by Bryce. He had a really dumb interception and a couple bad passes, but was also let down by his guys. When you have multiple 6+ minute drives, it's gonna lead to lower scores...

Honestly, the team has really played much better the last few weeks, Bryce included. I'm hoping at some point these start becoming real wins instead of just moral victories...

It is a pretty routine reception. Thielen's had a couple circus catches this year. But that pass to XL shoulda been caught and not in the "if he gets his hands on it he should catch it" way
