Not that Ive seen.  I would like to see Ward play against better defenses and I would like to see Garret and Allar keep developing.  My wish is still snagging Ewers in the 2nd if by some crazy way he falls

We'll just have to wait and see. I said that among all the qbs drafted last draft only 1 or 2 will pan out. That's looking like a safe bet.

OL is a 180 though, this O regardless of who is playing QB should be substantially better than last year. And it really isn’t.  That’s the Canales red flag

You cannot say it doesn't matter who is playing QB ever in any circumstance. The first two games of the season, Bryce was standing in the pocket with time missing throws left and right. We were running the ball well, but even the gimme throws Canales was setting up, Bryce was missing. Then you start Dalton, boom easy win at Las Vegas. By week four's end, three of our best defenders are seriously injured, center injured, 2nd best veteran WR hurt, and best veteran WR quitting on the team.

Canales is a rookie head coach, and he definitely has had some see what sticks moves. But players are being schemed open, the rookies are progressing nicely, and you have the albatross of some terrible lack of talent to phase out. I give him credit alone for pulling Mingo, Thomas, and going with the better/younger producing players. The scheme is better, he just needs better players and I am not going to write him off until he gets more talent, starting with QB!

well, the comparison is to last year.  The OL is a 180 degree from that....

and overall on the season they have had better skill talent for the same QBs behind a MUCH better OL.

So yeah, the O not looking any better overall is a red flag for Canales.

It's the NFL. I big picture don't care if Canales is a rookie HC.  There are 32 of these jobs in the world.   Given what we have the most expensive OL in the league.....we should be better offensively than last year.

Canales needs to develop.  As someone said when he was hired, it was a good hire a year or two too early.  Give him time.  At a minimum, we need to develop the talent we have on the roster.  If Canales isn't the guy to be your head coach, let him coach while you build talent.  Make the job more appealing until you get the guy you wanted all along.

Or heck, maybe Dave becomes a better coach by the end of year two.  Dave has some serious cuteness issues with the plays he calls.  Get smart, give it to Chubba.  That will fix a lot of those issues.  Let Bryce push the ball down the field - see what happens good/bad/ugly.  Over all, we just need ownership to be patient and give the football guys a chance to build the roster.

Kind of hard to give a poo when the owner cuts your balls off in front of the NFL on draft day. BY wasn't Frank's pick. Stroud was a far better fit for the type of offense Frank liked to run.

True but, he still didnt give a poo at the end of the day. Whether he got his guy or not, he didnt give a poo and it showed all the way up until he was thankfully fired.

How do you give a poo when you're hired to do a job and have your legs taken out from under you before you even have a chance? He wasn't even allowed to have his choice of tools to do his job. That's like asking me to replace a motor and handing me a hammer.

Haven't read through the thread but last year with Canales as OC, the Bucs were 23rd in yardage and 20th in points. This year without him they're 5th and 3rd respectively. With all of our focus on adding offensive pieces we're still near the bottom of the league in both categories. Not looking good but you have to give him more time. You can't just keep firing coaches.

I understand that but he still had to give a poo because it was his job. If he wasnt going to then step aside and quit but he wanted to get fired to collect that big check. Im not condoning if Tepp did say he had to take Bryce, im simply saying even so Frank still should have did his job to the best of his ability and voiced his displeasure along the way with ownership so he isnt held responsible when they began to suck.

You clearly dont understand the man Reich is if you think he is going to voice his displeasure openly.  He was a company man until the end but yeah he was just going through the motions because he knew the he was the captain of the titanic and failure was inevitable

What Canales needs to do is be more confident in the way he speaks and less wishy washy. For example, there is no reason at all that Bryce Young has not been named the startingn QB. I don't care if hates the guy, make the decision one way or another and move on. If he sucks you will get your QB either way. But this, we have to evaluate all the blah blah blah, this is the easiest decision in sports right now.

Ehhh, I never liked his hiring much anyhow. It was funny to watch him fired mid season and not that he cared either way. Telling your boss how stupid they are for their poo decisions is part of the fun when you work in coaching.

All this season has shown is reich was better than everyone thought bc he had the offense looking better with a terrible bryce.  Canales verdict is still out bc he has had no qb and hard for any coach to show his worth with no qb.  With that said he hasnt done anythibg amazing so far
