I have the same issue, the only thing that's worked for me is to use a pipe snake & a pair of rubber gloves. I clean ours out about once every 3-4 months or so. One thing that makes a big difference is a vigorous scalp massage & combing through my hair with a wide toothed comb prior to showering. I know you said you don't brush your hair but do you comb it?

I don't have this problem. Of course my beard hairs don't fall into the bathtub. Butt hairs maybe, but not beard hairs.
