clogged shower drain

I haven't found anything to help. Between me and Tyler, who's hair is as long if not longer than mine, our drains stay clogged. His drain is worse than mine. I did buy one of those drain thingys that catches the hair for my shower, but it won't stay in place.

I get a lot of clogs in my shower drain too - thanks to my girlfriends hair. The BB&B hair stopper looks like a great idea; I'll try that too.

I use drano about four times each year. Use half a bottle and after about 30 minutes of leeting the drano do it's job, pour as much boiling water as you can down the drain. I have a huge pot (probably 6 gallons) that I use. Without the boiling water, the clog never clears for me.

Unless you enjoy touching all of that nasty gunked up possibly urine soaked pubes, ass hair, and variable what nots, here is what you do. Go down to Lowes. Go to the plumbing section and find their drain cleaners. Don't buy the shitty Draino or LiquidPlumber crap, get the good stuff. The stuff that comes wrapped in a sealed plastic bag with WARNING on it.

This stuff is pretty much just sodium chloride. It can be nasty but just follow the instructions, it is not difficult to use and unless you are a complete idiot you will be fine.

Sodium hydroxide maybe?

Salt is a poor drain treatment.

:cheers2:

Ya got me, you're right I was wrong.

However, if you did pour enough salt down the drain and you do not have PVC pipes, it could eventually eat through. Which would solve your drainage issue.

You would then have a leakage issue but that is a for another thread.
