I posted something on this earlier. I see this as helping us that the Jets, Ravens, and Dolphins addressed WR. The Steelers aren't taking a first round WR with Mike Wallace emerging last year. They think he could be big time for them. I don't see the Broncos trading a problem WR for another WR with potential problems. The Redskins?? Since when do they need WRs? Seattle needs a running back as well as possibly a DE, DT, or QB before they need a WR. WRs are going to fall...not rise.

How many years have we taken the player at a position everyone thought we would?? If everyone wants a WR it is almost guaranteed we don't take one until much later in the draft if at all. Plus if you really think our 2nd round pick WR, if we actually do it. will be the starter we need, you really haven't been paying attention for the past decade. Even Smith didn't excel until year 2 as a receiver.

I have already ranted about how it takes time to develop a WR...and how we should have picked up a WR in FA:banghead: But all we seem to be doing is picking up scrubs for special teams

which WR in FA should we have gone after? only one that was worth anything that we wouldn't have to trade/overpay for was antonio bryant and even then he was overpaid and not really worth the cancer he brings with him. nate burleson? dude is nowhere near they amount of money that the lions signed him for.

and we have been needing those "scrubs" for special teams for a while.

the offseason is still very young and there is getting ready to be a new FA phase. the first one was piss poor because of the uncapped year and what few there were got way too much money. the next pool of FA WRs should have a lot better value in it.

    • I loved this draft. I think we have 3 starters out our first three picks. Maybe they take a year to develop but I don’t see them taking long.    I think Etiene is going to be a good back up. He’s only 20 so he has a lot to improve on.  I think we will see him be used on special teams this year. He won’t get many reps unless an injury happens because we got two 1,000 yard rb in front of him. I could see Ransom starting but I think he will probably be a back up, maybe playing special teams? I think hes probably got the lowest ceiling of all our drafted players. Cam Jackson will be a back up, probably not a lot of snaps this year. Could end up being a solid player for us.   I love the Mitchell Evans pick. He’s got potential to be our top TE. He had two different injuries that set him back in college but I think if he was healthy he would have been one of the top TE in the draft. I have even more faith in him because ND makes great tight ends. I don’t know if he will play much this year unless an injury happens though. Probably just a blocking TE this year.
    • That's right, I don't remember Hardy but remember the Nails dude
    • Tet isn't Evens. He isn't as quick or uses his body as well, something Evans was known for in school. Tet catches well but he won't be the threat Evans is unfortunately IMO. It was like drafting Bryce and thinking your getting Wilson. Evans ran a 4.53 40, 7.08 3 cone, 4.26 shuttle and at the combine and not his proday. He was also 12 lbs heavier. If your expecting Evans your going to be disapointed unless you give Tet a bit of a discount on expectations IMO. Lol now it's saying they had Tet as a 4.48 at his proday when people were reporting 4.6+ at that time. It's going to be interesting to see what is real and what is BS. Proday numbers are so rounded in positive directions.
