For anyone paying attention,

Texans offense is playing awful in general compared to last year.

This isn’t a Bryce cope it’s the truth and why the Texans went in last night as only a 2 point favorite

they miss Nico Collins

When they initially lost Collins they still had Diggs to take up the slack.  Now all they've got is Dell and he's a FANTASTIC #2, but he's not a true 1.  I have no idea what happened to their OLine, but it has been abysmal this year.

You’re allowed one bad game. This is basically Bryce stats every game.

GB game was worse than this one. Dude is still really good, just saying OP has a good point. What’s around you matters immensely

The cope that Stroud would struggle here too is absolutely insufferable at this point in time.

It's better to just move on than continue with this charade.

But it’s true. This team is terrible and has been for 2 years due to horrendous drafting and contracts. Not sure anyone can refute that

Yeah its really dumb. Stroud still wouldve looked 10 times better than Bryce last year and of course we would be in much better position this year.

I don’t disagree but I do wonder if some would question him because he would have struggled

Jets pass defense is hard on almost all QBs.

Stroud this year is still 66%, 11 TDs, 4 INTs, and over a 90 QB rating.  Not as great as he was last year, but a sophomore slump in a year where a lot of offenses have regressed isn't a cause for concern.

Stroud showed a lot of elusiveness last night. I was genuinely surprised to see him get away from some sure tackles. The Jets could have easily had double digit sacks last night. But... no QB can overcome a bad oline, bad weapons, bad scheme and bad playcalling (bad scheme and playcalling meaning it doesn't fit your personnel, and a lack of adjustments). People put QBs on a pedestal, but I've always approached them like Canales - 1/11th of the offense, with a little more weight because they touch the ball every play. The Jets comeback was just as much on those WRs making plays as it was Aaron Rodgers. I might argue even more.

Unlike Bryce we’ve seen glimpses of the others looking like franchise QBs. I don’t buy that we’re so much worse that he would look significantly better on any of those teams.

The others also have tools that defenses respect regardless of what the supporting cast does while Bryce is getting openly mocked.

Many things can be true at the same time.

Stroud is good.

Stroud isn’t the same good every game.

Talent on the team matters.

Panthers have no talent.

Bryce sucks.

These are all true at once.  What Stroud would have done here is unknowable and a matter of conjecture and opinion. My opinion is Stroud would be better than Bryce in ANY situation of equal footing.

I feel like Bryce has had very few games where he's hit 191 yards passing, and when he did they came in garbage time.

    • I imagine starting Cade Mays has everything to do with him already being under contract next season and Christensen not. If they feel like the performance level is similar, they probably want to see if Mays can play well enough down the stretch to win the starting job going into next season. Plus, yeah, Brady Christensen is an excellent depth player given he can play literally every position on the OL at a solid level. Personally, I'd like to see us extend him regardless just for that alone. He might legitimately be the most versatile OL in the league.
    • I’m hoping Moton will retire a Panther. He’s been a steady presence on that OL for years and it would be ashamed to let him go.
    • Hunt would be having a pro bowl season if he was on a playoff team. And Lewis will be here another 2 years with that contract he got. I don’t think at this point guard is an option in the near future.
