Tepper is making ALL decisions

Recommended Posts

I get it and agree Tepper was definitely calling the shots ... up until this season. After all the shots he did pull, especially the Bryce pick, if Tepper was still pulling the strings there is no way Canales is benching Bryce after two games.  T

You know that trade from the ravens was brought to Tepper. Today was the final nail in the coffin that convinces me that Morgan makes no decisions until Tepper approves or tells him what to do.

Bryce being drafted, Ron being fired. Cam fired. Cam rehired. Rhule. Not wanting to hire Wilks full time. Baker. Sam. Hiring Frank. Firing Frank after 11 games.

the organization is toast with Tepper. Tepper is a micromanager and is BAD at football. It’s the only reason the team is worse every year under his leadership. 2 wins last year. We won’t win but 1 game this year!  Stop showing up and giving your money to him. Money is the only thing he knows and when people stop showing up, he will sell.

Whatever, dude.

You saw those games though. With Thielen and Diontae both having fits with Young because he was so bad.

I don't know that proves anything about Tepper, you'd have to be blind to disagree with Canales on that.

I'd like to think he has backed off but it is hard to know and with his track record it is fair to be skeptical.

Is your source your fee fees?

Why is it so hard to understand that this team is just absolutely poo right now due to the past 7 years of poor asset management, bad contracts, and bad drafting? Yes it was all under Tepper's watch, but I seriously doubt he is pulling the strings on a trade to send an average WR away on a contract year while two rookies showing promise are playing harder and won't cost an arm and a leg to extend immediately?

Why do you make me defend Tepper?

The team is just ass. That's it. That's all it is. Stop trying to pepe silvia this poo and blame Tepper for a trade for a WR who consistently quits on routes and refuses to run block.

The evidence was the news that came out about his level of involvement in demanding we trade up to get the number one pick and then the fact that most of the coaching staff wanted Stroud.

Everything else is easy enough.

Well, how did that work out? Doesn't seem to be any way to defend that whole sequence. He may be a jerk but he would have to be totally narcissistic to not understand that he fuged up. Maybe he is that clueless and there will only be more.

Or maybe he starts to learn that he does not know the same as people who have put their life into football. It's the only hope there is.

and switching to the 3-4, and giving input on who the like in the draft.

Zero evidence any of this is Tepper. I am sure he is made aware and has ability to veto a move, but this trade is all Morgan

I'd agree, and heaven knows I'm no fan of David Tepper.

I believe Morgan and Canales are indeed making their own decisions.

They might not be good ones, but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't their own.

I don't doubt that our leadership is capable of failing without David tepper's help.

He's proven to be the Jamarcus Russell of NFL owners.

I think you meant Tepper is the Bryce Young of NFL owners, because his heralded intelligence and acumen don't translate in the NFL at all.

And yet, Jamarcus was an even bigger flop. And that's why I chose him over Bryce, after much consideration.

    • If he tries to do that I have a feeling the league is gonna tell him to butt out.
    • I think you are at a major advantage if you have the ability to run the football as a quarterback. It can mask a lot of issues. Much like RG3, or Anthony Richardson, immediate impact is a lot easier with a running QB. Anthony Richardson already appears to be a bust, despite him turning some heads early last year. Vince Young was a ROY. I do think Jayden is a lot better than a lot of those guys, but I think he's got a fair amount of development to do as well.  Stroud looks a lot better than Bryce, I won't dispute that, but he's taken a very big step back this year off of last year. Houston has a myriad of issues on the offensive side of the ball.  This is just a trend we seem to be seeing everywhere. Very few QB's are pro ready anymore, and just when we are ready to give up on a guy, he does the thing where he becomes competent, (not necessarily good). Sam Bradford, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith, Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, and so on and so forth. The list of evidence is enormous. But to your point, the highest miss rate of any position in football is quarterback. The vast majority of them do not pan out. More than likely, that is the case here.
