Dan Morgan is an awful GM

Bozeman had trouble setting up pre snap protection with Bryce. Plus, we were moving to a pass heavy/zone running offense and Bozeman was not good at either pass pro/zone blocking but rather downhill run blocking in Steve Wilks schemes.

I get you. I saw him get beat and look bad, too. But he wasn’t doing it with $150 mil to the left and right. And we had just paid him. The cheapskate in me is like, don’t just eat that, make him the backup.

The Bryce and him having trouble makes sense according the the Panthers way. Something you could fix.

are there any former players that have made good or great gm's? I feel they may have to much sympathy and over pay.

Ozzie Newsome was a very good Hall of Fame tight end and was a hell of a good GM for the Ravens but I can't think of anyone else off hand. He is older now but a part of me wonders if he could be bribed out of retirement by Tepp to come help fix this team.

So I know Dans gotten a lot of crap for the Johnson trade, but I think it’s best to keep things like this into perspective.

With a good old song by Kenny Rogers:

Moral of the story is sometimes you get dealt a hand that puts you in a no win situation, and you have to play the hand as best you can. You can’t get caught up on what lead to this point. It’s all in how you play it going forward.

facts: Johnson needed to be traded if we were gonna get anything for him.

holding onto him served absolutely no long term benefit, he wasn’t gonna resign here.

Everyone in the NFL knew this and we had no leverage as a result. In short, we had a poo hand and everyone knew it.

Calling Dan a bad GM based on this trade is just short sighted and reactionary.

Good for us to trade him, but bad for us to not take the 2 first rounders when we could. Market changed and so did our leverage.

leverage is the key part here.

Not Dans fault we passed on the two first round picks. That was Scott Fitterer, and probably a lot of teppers meddling as well.

point being, you want to trade when you have the leverage.

You can either just be a hater or actually try to understand what’s going on and why. Choice is yours.

Hot take news sources rarely give any meaningful insight as to what happens and why. It’s nothing more than lazy reporting.

The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem.

Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful.

Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did.

If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.

Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less.

I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.

Lmao, you just want to be angry and shout man.

I’ve explained it in simplest terms possible. Lashing out at me because I disagree with your short sighted hot takes only furthers my point about them being short sighted hot takes.

Just wants to be angry but doesn’t understand what’s actually going on. 🤣👍

You're doing a Morganesque job of reading what's in front of you.

I said I'm not rooting for him to fail, nor was I lashing out at you; if you make a poor claim, I'm within my bounds to respond to it. That's sort of the purpose of this forum. If I point out a guy did something poorly, I'm not "being a hater," but since you've already got your response cued up regardless of what's actually said, go ahead and call it "lashing out" again.
