Dan Morgan is an awful GM

I think "fixed" the o-line is a bit strong. He definitely improved the o-line, but I'm still not sure we have the answer at C or LT. Corbett was playing great, but will he be back? Brady has done ok, but is he the long term guy? And I don't see Ickey as a franchise LT.

So we don't like...

Drafting Leggette

Brooks projects to be a stud, and IMO was always a pick to replace Chuba because of Sanders' contract

Getting our last 2nd round pick back via a draft day trade with LAR

Drafting an actual passing game threat at TE in Sanders

Signing Hunt, and Lewis, plus staying the course with Ickey

Helping the corner unit by flipping Barrett (who was released) for Jackson

Basically getting Dionte for FREE, then turning him into a 5th when he wasn't going to resign here anyway, and doesn't fit the timeline being 29 next season

I can understand the ire against the defensive signings, but this was always a "let's see what we have in Bryce" season so resources we're redistributed and we found out quickly Bryce isn't it.

People have got to be realistic considering cap space, and the situation the roster was left in after years of mismanagement dating back to 2020.

All things considered they've done a solid job and have 9 picks heading into the draft.

Only thing I would be critical of is the shape of our defense, but perhaps we have to acknowledge they had to prioritize the offensive side of the ball in order to properly evaluate Bryce.  It should have been known that Defense would take a step back, but the injuries just made it 10X worse.  I think calling Dan Morgan a horrible GM is way too premature, he will need to have a couple of seasons under his belt to be judged.

You draft guards and sign tackles.  We spent a boatload of resources to confirm after 2 games what most on the board already knew. Bryce ain't it. His physical limitations are overwhelming and he cannot read NFL defenses. We didnt even bring in real competition because it the obvious even moreso. I'm not sure what solid job they've done. We're likely going to finish the season 1-16 with the 1st overall pick, the worst defense in NFL history, and could very well end up trading BY away for less than we owe. Morgan was part of the group that signed off on Young and the rest of this debacle. Can't give him a pass for things even the casual fan could see from a mile away.

Pumping up the Brooks trade up is also a weird flex, looking more and more each day that he isnt going to make any impact this year.  Stupid trade and stupid pick

Are we not going to give him any credit for Jalen Coker? UDFA who contributes on Sundays is an insane find.

Even a squirrel finds a nut occasionally. How about ignoring big areas of need to draft an injured RB when Chuba is one of the few NFL starting caliber players on this team or trading your best receiver to basically move up like 1-4 spots in the 5th round in 2025. Not taking a shot at a QB to push Bryce whether drafting someone in later rounds or bringing in fields who they could have had for a ham sandwich

The timing of this post makes me think you are mad about today's trade.  I'm totally fine with today's trade.  My concern with him is he has no idea how to draft, which imo is the most important role of a gm.  You can have a cap guy to deal with contracts (as we do).  Just freaking draft good players.

I agree. We now have 3 picks in the 5th round. That more than makes up for not having a pick in the 6th round. Ideally we would draft 3 solid contributors in round 5 for 2025. Or, we could package two of those picks to move up into round 4 and get additional pick to go with ours if we see a player we want sliding down the draft board.

As you stated, the key is to draft good players! It doesn't matter how many picks you have during the draft if you waste them picking JAGS and/or busts.

Said it before, but after last year's disaster, Tepper should have fired anyone and everyone associated with that season, even the f'ing janitor.  This franchise is doomed until Tepper sells, bottom line.  He simply can't keep his nose out of things and does nothing but hire 'yes men'.  I checked out on this team years ago, so these moves/results don't bother me.  I get that Tepper feels like he should play a part in his investment, but the problem is that he doesn't know what he's doing and wont hire/listen to people who actually do.

Not the janitor! Maybe the scouts and FO, but leave the janitor alone man. 😏

He's not the reason our team sucks!

idk about getting Dionte for "free". we gave up a 6th round pick along with DJax during the trade in the offseason. Now, we're paying BOTH Dionte and Donte this season to play for other teams while our cap is already a mess. The moves does free cap in the future but all we got in return for Dionte is moving is 15-20 spots in the late 5th round

DJax was getting cut either way.
