Im old enough to remember when Panther fans insisted we should’ve drafted AR or Levis… all three are equally terrible.

The trade package to get either would have been far less than BY one. If you look at most early QBs picked in the top eight or so, the bust rate feels like its around 85%, which you should never trade up for QB if that's the case.

I mean burrow, stroud, and maybe Daniels are about the only hits in what 8 years? 10x the amount of busts and its grows each year.

Levis was a second round pick, so he wouldn't have required any trade package, unless we move up in the second to get him.

Don't hold me to this, but I think Levi's was the 33rd pick and panthers originally had like the 39th pick(used on mingo). So they would have to moved up to 33rd and the cost could have been just a 4th+_____(sense it was the first pick that round). I think titans traded up from like 35 to draft Levi's as well, but I have not checked my statements. Plus brother my once rock solid NFL mind is not working so well, forgive me if Im wrong about some of those numbers and such.

I’m holding you to it!

Looks like you are right though so we’re good…

I am saying we could have used the first round pick on him, the one we originally had before we made the trade with the Bears.  Not a great move, but certainly better than all we gave up to get Bryce.

For that matter, we could have taken Hendon Hooker with the second round pick.  Other than CJ Stroud, he is the only one that hasn't looked terrible (because he hasn't actually played).  We would still have been better off.

Yeah I think I agree. Even standing pat and taking a bust with the 9th pick is far preferable to what happened.

Much less damaging. Exponentially.

I insisted the choice should have been between Stroud and AR with Bryce not in the running.

Stroud for the safe pick, AR for the huge boom or bust guy.

Everyone with half a brain knew Bryce was not built for the NFL.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
