Anthony Richardson benched

As much as we suck, man that’s gotta be frustrating for Colts fans. The ability is so clearly there but he just doesn’t have the makeup for it.
 

Taking himself out of the game for what everyone knew would be a handoff says more to me than the stat line tbh, as I think it speaks to his unlikelihood (or likelihood, depending on how you look at it) of ever putting in the work necessary to meet his potential I don’t think he really understands the magnitude and responsibility of being QB1 for a franchise.  Also said he was a “great passer” and it’s just like…read the room man.

 

Def reading a lot into a small series of events but it does seem like what will be a deciding moment of his career

They had to sit him after his comments last week. And with that, I’m guessing he’s not going to be too happy about this benching. Wouldn’t surprise me if he tries to get outta there. 
 

Stroud was the only one worthy of the 1st round.

They rushed it with Richardson. He was always a high upside raw talent that needed to sit and eased along. We would've been a good spot to develop him honestly since we had Dalton, but we would've needed some coaching stability.

He might be trending Jamarcus Russell if he thinks he is a great passer. 

Yeah, he needs to be on the bench for a WHILE.

Wow, I'd say this is all tied to taking himself out of the game. Just cannot do that in the NFL as a starting QB.

Without the Tepper factor, we would be a good spot for that. 

Yeah that 2023 draft, no one thought Levis or AR were up there with Stroud. It was clear who the possible guy was in that class.

AR was my QB pick but only with the right coach, not Reich. But he was also a sit for at least a year to get him to NFL ready. I think a lot of these QBs just arent ready to be the starter and fans and the league have unreal expectations.

Not surprised. He isn't playing well and he quit on the field. He probably lost the support of the coaching staff and the locker room with that "I need a breather" mess. I'm honestly surprised they didn't just tell him to hit the lockerroom right then and there.
