Hunter vs Tmac who you got?

Say we decide to trade back and not draft a QB. Both players are on the board who do you prefer we take?

Hunter is a elite DB prospect who happens to have the ability to also play WR. He's a threat to score after the INT. Some think he will play both ways I don't. If we draft him I would just use him at DB and have one of the best DB tandems in football with Horn/Hunter.

Tmac is a 6'5 fast and fluid with his routes. If you ask me he's better than last year prospect Harrison Jr. He's already had a 300 yard game and a 200 yard game in this season with a QB who's not really good imo. He's the next great WR.

Both elite prospects and these guys are the only other game changing prospects I see in this draft besides the 2 QB's Sanders/Ward.

Who you got?

If we had a viable QB...and had to pick between the two...then Tmac would be a no brainer for me. Line him up in a 3WR set with Legette and Coker and we'd become a problem for defenses around the NFL...with a viable QB of course

I like Hunter, but I wouldn't want to go top 5 on a cornerback with a team this bad. He could ball it here and still have no impact on our ability to win because teams would simply ignore his side of the field on pass plays and gash us to death running the football.

I'd like to find the best pass rusher in the draft and get him with our almost assure top 3 pick. If Brown returns to form next year that would give us 2 solid pieces to build around.

I want Hunter as a DB.

If you drafting him for a WR wouldn't you just take Tmac?

I'm assuming you think Hunter is a better WR prospect over Tmac correct?

I think he is a better weapon. TMac only has 2 games this season with TDs. Yeah Hunter has a NFL QB throwing to him, but still you get him enough looks and he will make some plays. I’d prefer Hunter with his explosiveness and fire he plays with. TMac is solid though.

If it's #1 overall, ideally you move down enough to still grab one of the two.

I would probably prefer McMillan because WR is more of a need than DB. Both are elite players, so it would be hard to be upset with either. It might be hard to afford two top 10 draft pick CB's eventually(assuming Horn sticks around), as well.

The top 5 should have some definite options, OT, DT, etc. We absolutely have to get a solid 8-10 year starter at the minimum. Anything less is unacceptable.

EFFING EDGE RUSHER GODDAMNIT

It’s a bad year for that at top picks. Pearce at Tennessee was the top or right there not that long ago and he didn’t impress me at all when I’ve watched him. He seems like a lesser Burns. Much rather go CB/DT in 1st and look at edge in 2nd, FA or next draft.

I think T Mac is going to be a special player. But I don't know how anybody can look at this team and say "wide receiver, that's what we need 1,1."

Granted, many of them have been awful, but we have used so much draft capital on receivers.  This team needs help on defense. Interior D line, Edge rushing, linebackers, and in the secondary.

The only way you go offense in my view is if you fall in love with a quarterback. I just do not like this crop. Cam Ward is my favorite, but I'm not sure that's an NFL guy.

In other words we need help at every position on the defensive side of the ball. 😡

Yeah I'm all for defense but it has to make sense. This DE class is not that impressive and as you said the best guy is Pearce and he doesn't really jump out when I watch him.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
