Dave Canales is one and done.... part 2.

Did Canales not have any say in the roster composition?

If the mandate was fix Bryce, then surely we would be adding pieces on offense. The line is as good as it's been at pass blocking in years. We got Diontae for basically nothing. The rookies are a mixed bag so far. Burns was likely to be gone no matter who the coach was, and I don't think anyone has a problem with that given that he's being paid like a top 3 pass rusher and never has played like it. Luvu signed in Washington for less money. Chinn was barely playing because for whatever reason he doesn't fit our system. The depth on the team would have likely been bad no matter what, especially with Brown going down in week one, and most of the FA additions on defense simultaneously getting hurt. We should have known it was going to be bad when Morgan was going through every team's scraps at the end of the preseason (and still is just about every week).

Andy Reid might not have a single win with this roster. But some of our fans are actually blaming Canales for this mess. Yall are crazy.

with this OL? Andy Reid would find ways to win ball games.  Andy Reid also is one of the best at scheming guys open for success.  Not just asking a man to beat a man.

Andy Reid basically slept walked to double digit wins with a vet QB who wouldn't take shots downfield pre Mahomes.

And yet all those players were part of a defense that was top five in the league, and without them….

At the end of the day the defense was gutted/allowed to leave so the panthers had the flexibility to improve the wr corps and offensive line. The result is what we see.

Dave Canales deserves blame for parts of this. He was the coach. If he had no say then there’s no need to keep him for a rebuild. If he was in favor of it then he’s a moron and doesn’t deserve to be kept around.

if he was against gutting the defense and overruled, which I sincerely doubt since it’s not even a unit he has say over, then fug it keep him around because nothing matters with this team.

Said it before, will say it again.

everything is so bad about this franchise right now, it’s really hard to evaluate anyone. It’s a results based business, and canales is expected to win. But I’m not sure that job was possible this season.

so he may get fired, but I don’t think he deserves it.

the O improving off Frank certainly was possible.  That basically was what the season was all about.  And in that regard, Canales has failed pretty bad to date.

I don't love Canales coaching at the moment. Very sub par. That's irrespective of the players. But I will say, that some of you bought into all they hype. Canales was brought here for one reason, and that's because he was considered the best of what was left. He was a dart throw, and so far he hasn't hit the target. That's all we're relegated to is dart throws.

Come on fiz, I know you have been against the Canales hire from the jump and that's fine, but you can't tell me you actually believe this was a top 5 defense last year. They allowed the fourth most points in the league and were dead last in takeaways and sacks. You can cite the yards allowed, but just like 2010, offenses could pretty much relax for most of the second half and run the ball because this team had no hope of scoring.  This year was pretty much fuged from the get go because of all the roster decisions from the last 2-3 years that have come to roost. It's that simple.
