Dave Canales is one and done.... part 2.

Recommended Posts

Matt Fricken' Rhule got 2+ years.  That's three season openers.  Then when we should have kept Wilks, but we didn't.  Instead we went to Frank Reich, the Panthers OG himself.  That lasted only 11 games?  (please correct me if I'm wrong).  Now some are suggesting we fire Canales after eight games?  Or after the season?

Impatient teams do impatient things.  Bad teams lack patience.  Is Canales the perfect play caller?  No.  Is he the perfect head coach?  He is handsome as heck and has a sleazy past?  Oh sweet baby yes!  Canales is still young.  Probably could have used another year or two as an OC.  Instead he's going to learn on the job.

So where does this leave us, dissatisfied fans?  Fire the entire FO!?  Burn it down!?  Didn't we do that last off season?  What happens when you keep burning it down?  Nothing gets a chance to grow.

Dan Morgan picked some talented guys.  I think XL is going to be good.  Wallace is a dog.  JT Sanders has shown some flashes in games.  Brooks...well...yeah (right now a big ole miss!).  Dan's not going to hire his buddy if he's a poo coach.  Dan knows he'll lose his job next if Dave doesn't work out.

I think we need to let it grow for a bit.  As painful as it will be.

To your point though, it is not fans, clear-thinking or otherwise, that will decide what happens.

It could be. I mean, start Bryce at home again and see how that goes. Give up 47 or something at home in that scenario and see how things go.

The fans in the stadium do have some influence.

you have to hire a new head coach at the end of this season while you have the #1 pick  .if not  ,well then no decent head coach is going to agree to come to Carolina without that #1 pick

& moreover you owe it to the Qb that you decide to draft #1 overall in this upcoming draft

...just saying

yeah i hear it alot of people  give this generic response stating that we owe Canales at least  2 years ? no what we owe is to the fans the players the opportunity to win & a rookie Qb the best coach available to help mold him into a success

It’s funny to me that are still people putting in solid effort posts on how to fix this team.  We have been in a constant downward spiral, a descent with seemingly no end.  We have found new lows when we thought we were already as low as you can go.  There’s some romantic idea of just hitting rock bottom where the only place to go is up.  That’s a fairy tale….our real fate is purgatory, which seems far more likely than any rebound.

lol yeah let’s just fire another coach and look like even more of a laughing stock than we already look like. Cmon man. How are we supposed to win with the players and injuries we’ve had this year? I’m not saying Canales is great, but our main priority needs to be aquiring talent. Stability at the HC for atleast one offseason would be nice.

Man I have some Don Rickles worthy cracks for some of this poo but will pass and try to be nice.

In general, jumping on firing people because they can't turn piss into lemonade is really getting old. Same thing happened to Reich last year. If you couldn't tell that that mess was not his preferred recipe, you are part of the problem.

You started off spelling 'descent' correctly which was a strong sign... excellent post that I enjoyed reading. Lot of truth.

That is our nature though, to want to fix things. And they could use some fixing.

descent is always decent or desent these days.... I miss literacy.

i honestly hate to say this simply because DC is such a likeable guy.however , at the same time it was way way early & Canales should have never been hired in the first place to be an NFL Head Coach at this stage of his carrer   .now  if so , please explain to me what Canales has ever done in the past that would lead you to believe that he is qualified to be a good to above average head coach in the NFL not now but let's even say more importantly moving forward?

& I completely understand you desperately want some sembelance of stability & most people yes want that in their everyday life it makes perfect sense. however this is the NFL & unfortunately it's just the opposite of stabilty instead it's all about what have you done for me lately & winning  & not just for the coaches but everyone & I mean everyone involved

& btw I was never a fan of firing Reich mid season last year
