Positive signs from Bryce

May as well play him. We’re full steam ahead towards the number one pick with this defense and any locker room potential issues are likely to be traded in the next week or two anyway.

even if he does a 180 and plays like prime Manning, this defense isn’t good enough to win another game outside of these next two.

Looked better than Dalton vs a much better defense. At least next week it’s the depleted saints D. Might as well throw him out there.

I don't think he did, unless you cherry pick bad Dalton.

The best Bryce against the worst Dalton, is still pretty even.

When you consider the best Dalton against the best Bryce, it is no comparison.

I may be in minority but I saw some positive signs from Bryce today

he stood in the pocket a lot more and threw despite the pressure, attempted throws downfield, showed better command and poise

Negatives; inconsistent accuracy, terrible timing of interceptions, needs to be more aggressive downfield.

i expected a worse performance tbh, he looked improved compared to first two weeks but not sure if he deserves more starts.

part of me wants to see if he can build off this, maybe I’m crazy

I don't know why all these assholes crapped your post because it made total sense and is something that crossed my mind also. You said nothing at all wrong and made a valid point over wondering the same thing I now am as far as giving him some more games in a throw away season just to see if he can go further than this. Worst case scenario, he shows enough to make his trade value go up in the off-season so nothing to lose. If he continues to throw the ball down field as he should have been doing more of, at least it gives the young WR's and TE a shot at development too

Bryce stans are pleading for more misery? Do you not see week to week what rookie and 2nd year QBs are expected to do?

Josh Rosen would be an upgrade over Young. There are QBs sitting on other teams benches that are better than Bryce.

Give it up. He's done. How many starts do you afford a QB with ZERO consistent production before moving on? Josh Allen and Pat Mahomes just hit start 100. Young is at 20. Are you going another 20?

Montana only needed 6 starts. Brady needed 10 starts. Jayden Daniels needed 7 starts. CJ Stroud needed 9 starts.

Do you see how these QBs make it known they can lead and turn around a bad team in year 1? There's many more like this, and remember there are only 64 QBs to make a championship game in the past 35 seasons.

How many starts did it take Delhomme and Cam? Cam was on his way to RoY and PB by week 10 on a Jimmy Clausen rebuild. Clausen was done after 10 starts. Is Bryce that much better than 2nd round pick Clausen?

98 of that was in one garbage time drive

People out blowing leaves, come back and look at his stats and “he needs to start next week!”.

does anyone else watch other NFL games? Because he doesn’t look anything like a “decent” QB when the game is remotely close. Plummer could have just as easily racked up the same 4th quarter padded stats when the defense couldn’t care less up 3 scores.

There are no "Bryce stans" other than the ones you have made up that supposedly exist in your head. He has been so horrible that even today was an upgrade in play for him. If he can show just a bit more courage as he showed slightly more of today and playing him in a throw away season some more may up his trade value at seasons end worst case scenario.

Anyone still blowing the horn for Bryce Young is not watching the games. Bryce is captain check down. Canales scripted short easy passes just so he could complete literally anything. When he has to throw past the line of scrimmage from the pocket, he is remarkably terrible. He flat out is too short to see his receivers and read a defense. He will never be a good NFL caliber QB. Never.

    • This is why it's probably going to be hard to trade down. This draft is fairly light on top tier talent but pretty deep in talent of that next tier down. I don't think there's going to be a lot of teams clamoring to move up and numerous teams might be entertaining moving down. Not a good market to trade down if that's the case.
    • And if they can't find a reasonable trade down (I think we would need a 2nd rounder this year bare minimum to make any trade down worth it). I would definitely expect Dan to trade UP for an EDGE or LB in the top half of R2. Just makes too much sense. We also have a plethora of mid round picks to use as ammo.
    • I don't mean to make this a mock draft thread particularly,  but every time I do a mock I have been investigating the talent that goes off the board between picks 8 and our low 2nd rounder pick 57. There is a gargantuan amount of talent still left on the board in the top half of the 2nd round every time I do one. Losing our original 2nd round pick to the Bears as the last pick of the Bryce trade stings badly .  I'm particularly looking at elite players like Carson Schwesinger (LB), Luther Burden (WR), Matthew Golden (WR), Maxwell Hairston (CB) , Nick Scourton , Landon Jackson, Donavan Ezeraku (all DEs/OLBs) . The sweet spot in this draft really feels like pick 15 to 40 - ish. This is why the Bears should be making bank with this draft. I don't know how realistic a trade down is from 8, but if we could pick up any teams higher 2nd rounder and still grab their 1st? We'd be cooking with gas man.  Say for example we get Tet McMillan at pick 8, if you wait all the way to 57 you stand the chance of not getting any impact pass rushers in this draft. And I don't think this team can afford that.  I'd personally love for them to take a break from drafting wrs in R1 or R2 (i think we've taken one in the top 2 rounds in the majority of the past few years), and stick to repairing the nfls worse defense in history (in terms of total points against iirc, or was it yards? Also included my most recent mock as an example . Don't put too much into the  late round selections lol
