Positive signs from Bryce

I find it hilarious and immature to poo someone's post just because you disagree with it.  Anyone who reads my posts regularly knows that I just call it like I see it.  I was a Stroud first guy.   I am someone who can appreciate a nuanced conversation instead of the immature black and white approach to everything.   I'm about 95% sure Bryce is a bust due to his heigh, but that 5% acknowledges there's a chance he can still be serviceable as a starting QB.  When I compare the first two games he was totally in shambles, lacked confidence, constantly ran out of the pocket, did not step into his throws.

Yesterday there were times he reverted back to those habits but you could also see where he remained in the pocket, eyes downfield, went quickly through his progressions, and tried to pass the ball downfield.  I think it was the last drive where he delivered a strike knowing he would get hit (in fact a roughing the passer was called).  His arm looked like it has plenty of zip even off his back foot.

Just because Tepper was an idiot to trade the farm for Bryce it doesn't mean I will blindly hate on the kid and not acknowledge positives when I see them.  Is he anywhere near where he needs to be?  Not at all.  He is inconsistent in seeing the field and making accurate throws, still lacks confidence as evidenced by the missed passes and interceptions, running out of bounds, running into a sack etc. .  A confident QB delivers those throws and makes better decisions.

I guess when I look back on Darnold, he looked like a lost cause and now he's playing well.  Who's to say Bryce can't do the same whether here or somewhere else.  All I'm saying is play him to the end of the year and then draft another QB or sign a vet.   You can still retain him on the roster potentially to compete, or hopefully trade him for a team that saw enough on tape to take a chance.

Peace

Holy poo that is high comedy

Show me where I stated his performance meant he revived his career. I’m just saying he did what no QB has done this season which is a fact.

And don’t talk to me about garbage time when he’s throwing to an undrafted rookie as his best option.

What you’re seeing is the difference between people who want the kid to succeed vs those who have already made up their mind that he can’t.

Ok you can rationale your hate anyway you want. He’s not playing defense. It’s not his fault it was garbage time. He still had one of the best offensive outputs against that defense this season period. But hate on my guy.

Prevent defense is prevent defense.

He can't.  Its written in stone

Ok maybe he won’t. But it’s a lot more fun watching him try than watching whatever is left of Andy Dalton. There’s a chance you’ll see glimpses of Alabama Bryce and as a Panthers fan that’s more fun to me. If you’re right and he can’t then no harm done, we’ll be in prime position to run it back with another young QB next year.

Me personally, I’m signing Justin Fields and drafting Travis Hunter and every BPA after that.

9 consecutive offense drives with no points.   That’s horrific offense.  That’s what he did after the opening scripted drive.   Game was long over before that final drive when Denver was clearly in not playing actual football mode

The key words there are:

Prevent: keep (something) from happening or arising.

Defense: the action of defending from or resisting attack.

As in the goal was to prevent them from scoring. They did not succeed. Bryce did, with an undrafted rookie.

And nothing you’re saying makes my statement false. Facts are facts
