Panthers vs Broncos 4:25pm

lol at some point you have to keep QBs, cant be a revolving door. unfortunately we rode 4.5 out of here in short order (cam, teddy, sam, baker, hell even walker) for this QB room. get a few young guys and develop them. instead we fired them all out of here quick. the argument for cam was he was diminished and older. teddy was a bridge (we all knew that) but instead of developing someone we jettisoned him. then sam and baker had a short shot and jettisoned. walker had the arm and legs but never got 100% chance (and is available again). atleast he could push it down field. unfortunately we have rode them out to the point we have to do it 1 more time because they are so bad in the QB room.

we did all the turnover in the QB room for a guy with a middling arena league arm and undersized for arena league even. then the backup is a guy that was hanging to a check and clipboard in dalton. and he has looked worlds better but is not close to a starter but an above average backup for a contending team (which we are not). should have moved on from wee man when someone offered anything after he hit the bench this year. but no, we are going to tank his value to 0. bryce must go, and dalton can too. at this point its 100% tear down and youth needs to fill the rooms. but unlike this time do it and stick to a plan for a few years and look for NFL arm and size. develop them, dont throw them out there with a terrible team and then jettison after it didnt work out.

reboot the QB room 100%. find younger guys to hold onto for years (3+) and see if one or more pop. go get a bunch of guys that have the size and arm to make throws beyond 15 yard (the fact thats now a thing is because how bad bryce has been).  id be in on a multi year sub 8 mill 1 of z. wilson, fields, lance. go in on darnold (no way he comes back, and no way i pay 25 mill for it) or Winston whos a little order and likely wont command Darnold $. they are not the guy for forever but a guy thats functional while dredging the draft and other young guys.

There is zero sense of urgency when Bryce comes to the line.

he delays on purpose....He could snap with 5 seconds to go, then he goes up to the LOS and barks commands, and from the reaction of the center, he is identifying the Mike LB---with 4 seconds on the play clock--and the OL already knows who the Mike is.  I think he is trying to reduce the number of plays he has to QB-

I admit that Bryce is not a good quarterback to put it nicely. But I believe he thought tremble was going to break to the outside.

There is no doubt that our communication between qb's and receivers is bad.  We saw that last week on one of Dalton's int's.  That might be on the coaching staff.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.

    • Mustard BBQ sauce only. Bessingers or Melvin's BBQ sauce.  However Bessingers is the best in the world, Melvin is 2nd.    I found this article    In fact, the New York Times Magazine described the sauce as “terrifically balancing the tangs of mustard and vinegar with a wood fire's charry flavor.” While helping his dad, Joseph “Big Joe” Bessinger, as a teenager in the kitchen of the family's first restaurants, Thomas learned the secret recipe for the gold sauce – ... https://www.bessingersbbq.com › t...
