NFL Network reports that both Panthers WR Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen are expected back soon from injury and could be “logical trade targets” for other teams.

According to the report, it’s possible that Johnson could be the “best and most high-profile receiving option available” at this year’s deadline.

The Panthers have received trade calls for Johnson, but they have no intention of giving anyone away, even though the team is clearly in a rebuild.

It would be foolish to accept a low ball offer (anything less than a 4th) on Johnson if we’re going into a full rebuild and not planning on signing any big free agency contracts. 

His contract with a new team would at minimum net us a4th in 2026 and could possibly be a 3rd.  Gabe Davis is projected to net the bills a 4th next draft.

The issue is that he basically has quit on the team. So this is basically the end. Also, we are terrible with compensatory picks, so I really do not expect that to change.

I wish the trade deadline would pass so the lousy trade speculations can stop and the lousy way too early mock drafts can begin.  I'm ready to hate something new.
