What would a successful game for Young look like?

positive yardage and points on the board while we are still in it.

limited 3 and outs. extend a few drives and give the D a chance to rest. those guys could use all the help they can get.

bar really isn't set that high. wouldn't have to be that high for him to bounce backwards off it, though.

what we saw when he entered the game last week is what i expect to see this week.

and by "what i expect to see" i don't mean i will actually be watching the game. i've got no desire to watch that team this year, especially with him at QB.

Disagree.   They aren't looking out of Bryce Young at this point.  It's the NFL.  Dave Canales is looking out of Dave Canales at this point.  That's how this thing works.

That what he should be doing. Bryce has already got one coach fired. Canales would have been a damn fool to ride his HC tenure on bryce. He gave bryce a shot and when he tanked he made a change. He has 50 other guys to manage, his job was never just to take care of bryce.

He needs a W. However we get it.

Our defense isn't able to stop anyone, so it will have to ride on the offense purely.

If it means short range passes and a heavy rushing attack, then so be it. Show that he can at least lead that. If it means opening things up and heaving it down the field as far as possible then so be it.

The team's got to get a W for anyone to even slightly take him seriously anymore.

I don't want to see a middling performance, even though that would be improvement. If he throws for 200 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT? Meh. Just enough for the staff/Tepper to trick themselves into trying to salvage him.

I either want 300 yards, 2-3 TDs, no INTs, and a win...or the worst QB play I've ever seen in my life. Definitive answer on how he bounces back...not a "well, maybeeee".

The most successful: W and he is able to pick apart the Denver D and make plays left and right.  Looks like the BY from Alabama.

Really successful: W

Modestly Successful: keeps us in it, but we lose.  He shows signs of things clicking and good decision making but the lack of practice time leaves a lot of rust.

What I expect: a big ole L and another poo the bed from Bryce.  If he's better than that, great!  But otherwise, I expect the same as usual.

I don't care if he throws 5-6 picks. Just show some urgency, some gumption, some fire. Play pissed off with a chip on his shoulder. Take some chances downfield; play with a gunslinger mentality. Make some positive plays to put up against the negative ones. Put some stuff on film that can build some confidence.

Denver's defense is good. I don't expect Bryce will have a great game, but the one thing I don't want to see is the deer in headlights we saw weeks 1 and 2.

    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
