What would a successful game for Young look like?

I'm not sure what it would look like.  Anything better than what he's shown so far would be an improvement. He would have to play lights out and have a couple of scoring drives before he ultimately flames out I guess. I don't think there is anything he can do to salvage his career here.

Pretty much. Young is done in Carolina.

I get the sense the fans are more done with BY than the org is and I can sense your collective buttholes puckering as you all read this.

the Panthers have proven to be so massively dysfunctional there is no way to guess what they think and are doing.

Org certainly looks done with him IMO.  And if they aren't done with him....they got horrible management plan for him.

One has to be tone deaf if you believe that.  You probably should read the room a better.  Go listen to Dave's comments this week

Yeah I have said that from the beginning. It's not up to the fans whether he stays or goes. Until the team gives up on him this is what you will see. Everyone knew as soon as Andy went down it was back to Young. I also said Andy only had about 4 games in him at best. It was inevitable that Young would start again this season. You were warned.

The same Dave that said definitively BY is our QB and less than 24 hrs later changed his tune?

C'mon now... dont let your emotions get in the way here.

Exactly.

They weren't tossing BY in the trash... they were trying to save him from himself.  Whether that works or not remains to be seen but they were gonna go back to BY eventually.

Disagree.   They aren't looking out of Bryce Young at this point.  It's the NFL.  Dave Canales is looking out of Dave Canales at this point.  That's how this thing works.

I don't disagree with this theory. But the switch was inevitable. It's just that now it's for a different reason.

The other Dave is calling the shots here and he's all about his ego and "investment" in BY.

    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
