This. I dont know why people keep harping on the run game like it is some beast we can lean on.

What the fug is Canales supposed to do when he calls a run and it nets 1.5-2 yards? Call it two more times and punt?

People pining for the RB to get 20+ carries need to go watch some old school reruns or some poo.

Fwiw, we are averaging 4.7 ypc, which puts us in the top half of the league. It's one of the few things we are actually good at.   But when you are behind by a lot of points, running games tend to go away.

This is apparently too complicated for a straight up simple play by play. ?

I think the motivations are really much simpler. And it isn't Canales throwing a payer under the bus to protect himself. I doubt seriously.

It is almost the trade deadline. The writers and talkers won't shut up about Bryce and Someone feels like it is important for Bryce to still get field time. Chicago and Washington show that. So there is that.

We don't know if they are getting calls about Young or not, nor how many or how few, nothing. But they know. Doesn't that make more sense as to why they'd show him off?

If they’re trying to trade Bryce they would definitely not try to show him off. The mystery is the only value left. The more tape you put out there, especially recent tape, the harder it will be to trick someone into thinking he can be an NFL player.

Secret to victory,  run wild cat all game, just like we did with another former Heisman winner in 2006

May sound weird but that was on of the funniest games I ever watched

Also 7 pass attempts and 3 sacks is a wild stat

That's why I remember it so well, it was the crazies thing ever.   It's the first time I ever saw the wildcat.  Dolphins were credited with this invention in 2008, Foxxy was doing this way  before haha

IIRC we had Dan Henning that year before he went to the Dolphins. Henning created the wildcat with the panthers

It really goes away when you are behind the sticks. It doesn't even take a score deficit, just a yardage hurdle you won't clear with a run.

Which we have seen a lot on account of pre snap stuff plus blown assignments. And people don't really account for it in the tally of the run/pass balance. 1st and 15, 2nd and 13, it matters.
