Trade everyone and fully rebuild..

Recommended Posts

Cleaning house with tradable guys would probably show a commitment to the current crew, or most of them, for next year. As it stands these guys look like they could be fired but they also earned that. It was always a patch job with the retool anyways. That lasted 2 games and there hasn't been much built except the injury report. Not selling on guys with contracts coming up that we shouldn't afford because they are not core players or players we can depend upon at a much higher rate of pay then I think it looks like the entire crew could be on the hot seat.

I'm fine with that, even with the recent history. These guys are not team bulders. They are the D squad that was kept around to prop up Young. No reason to get behind that or more of that.

To be a seller you need a buyer......no one is buying the guys that are basically special teamers or practice squaders. There are others available that don't require giving up draft capital on. We need to keep the guys that can add some value on STs and as backups with some developmental upside and draft better. That is it.

Tell me who on this team is worth a 3rd round pick for another team? Johnson's contract is expiring at season's end. If someone really wants him they can wait until he's hits FA. He's good, but he doesn't make any team a title threat just because he joins the squad.

Hubbard is also going to be a FA at the end of the year. Besides, isn't the current thought around the league (and this board) is that RBs are a dime a dozen. They supposedly aren't worth a 2nd contract. Why would anyone trade for Hubbard if RBs are so easy to find in the draft?

Outside of possibly Jaycee Horn, who do you think another team is going to be willing to part with a top 100 pick to acquire a player from arguably the worst team in the NFL?

I agree with drafting the BPA  in every round when your team is terrible (and even in some case when it is good), but when was the last time the Panthers did that? They can't even get it right when they have the first pick in the draft.

No series of trades is going to help this team. They need to start drafting well. Unfortunately, I don't think any of us have faith in the FO to do that.

I agree with this. Our biggest trade asset was McCaffrey and we basically got DJ Johnson for him. The failure to deal Burns for two firsts AFTER we fired Rhule in a lost season was another colossal disaster. These are the types of management decisions that have led to the current state of the team. And Morgan was in the FO for them along with the Bryce deal.
