Sam Darnold Vikings

I think 80% of his passes go to Justin Jefferson, a RB or TE.   That’s probably the ideal Sam Darnold formula.  Think the Justin Jefferson piece is the key to the Sam puzzle.  If you don’t have JJ…I don’t think Sam works

Sam has never been good at going through his progressions. He has one or two players he is gonna throw to and, dagnabit, he is gonna throw that ball to them even if a defender is covering them.
JJ is just really really good at making it easy for Sam.

Haven't changed my avatar for 3 years. He was never the problem here, as the last 3 starting QBs and 4 head coaches have shown.

I was 100% in favor of sticking with Sam and trying to build around him, but I knew this short-sighted fanbase would want to bail after 1 bad year. So I proposed starting Dam Sarnold who was just Darnold with Groucho Marx glasses.

But no. We'll just keep spinning the roulette wheel every year on QBs and coaches. Eventually that strategy is sure to work. After all, the definition of sanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, right?

You think the fanbase is calling the shots on all these qb and coaching changes?

Sometimes a franchise is just cursed. They’ve looked inept with every coach/gm/roster tepper has put on the field.  You’d think eventually they’d stumble on a good player or coach but nah.

Is he fixed or is he just on a team that can make it easy for him and cover up his problem areas.

I'd say that technically equals "fixing".

Bottom Line: He looks pretty good, and it's lasted more than four games 😐

Sounds more patched up than fixed. He is on a 1 year deal for 10 mil. Go ahead and sign him to a 30+ deal and cut some talent to make room for that contract and see it less patched up.

Darnold is Darnold. He hasn’t looked that good the last 2 weeks. In the playoffs he will meet defenses that will make him play outside his comfort zone if they make it.
As I said before, the Vikings have the perfect team around Darnold. If he was on any other team he would be the same ole Darnold.

The operative word is, Tepper.

    • There's a real physical toll that playing in the NFL takes on the body.  Certain things just won't work the same, which will make some of those challenges painful and hard.  These folks are all rich and have cushy lives to return to.  I'm not saying Cam will leave first, but I can see it after a few episodes when old injuries flare up.  Or he decides he's done with it.
    • His size could work against him…BUT Cam is a weird duck.  He was wired differently.  I would bet on the young Cam that could barely get dressed after a loss….that dude wouldn’t have quit easily IMO.  But that dude doesn’t exist anymore.
    • i got attacked by a housecat once. pretty terrifying.  i was at a friends house and the cat jumped on my lap. it was calm for a minute but then it turned on it's back and bit my hand and sunk it's claws into my arm, all four of them so i grab the thing and pull the thing off my arm, dragging it's claws down my arm. i finally get the crazy thing off and throw it on the ground then it grabs my leg (fortunately i was wearing jeans that day) and the owner, who has just been sitting there in shock watching this happen to this point, grabs the thing and carries it downstairs and throws it outside.  supposedly that cat had never done anything like that before. i had been over there a lot and never had any problems with that cat. but something happened to it and it was never the same. went completely mental. they kept it outside after that. one week they went on vacation for a few days and apparently a stray chow came around and when they got home, the chow had the cat trapped under a car. no telling how long it had been there.  they chased off the chow and the cat ran off and they never saw it again. then that chow came back and hung around for a while and was terrorizing the other animals, including an old horse they had in a pasture. it killed at least one cat that i know of. they called animal control on it and they found it under one of their outbuildings. they figured the only thing they could do is shoot the thing. they shot it with a shot gun and it took one blast and then went running towards the guy who shot it and had to shoot it again.
