How do we feel about Canales

Ian is awful but with Tremble out im not sure what else we could do. Sanders is getting a ton of PT. They obviously hate Franks.

Make an offensive lineman a tight end? Instant improvement in blocking and as a catcher... well, not throwing to this guy is likely a net gain.

I say this as a joke and yet, the Lions are kinda sorta doing this so there.

There are two ways to look at it. He could have been tasked with making Young better OR he could have been tasked to find out if Young is viable. It just a slightly different perspective. Personally I think his career will rest on how he does with the QB he brings in.

This is the perspective I had when Canales was hired. Worst case scenario, let him draft his own guy and see what happens. Exception would be if the offense even with Dalton looks inept which I would say it doesn't but has a lot of hiccups.

is it an overall better scheme? Or were the folks last year just forced to play Bryce Young all season.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for when Frank Reich talks about his Carolina days.

Some of the issues Reich had here were also present in Indy.

No doubt Frank had flaws.   But Frank was mid level NFL coach.  He couldn’t do that here because of Bryce….and the same glaring difference appeared when Dalton played vs Seattle.

clearly Bryce Young is an offensive issue unique to itself

Yep. It was immediately clear in the first game, that there was a problem with throwing downfield. Game two, same thing. Game three, lost but looked much more NFL doing it.

People would not acknowledge the difference in philosophy, it was excuses excuses excuses.

    • If Hubbard does not want bank breaking money, I would absolutely resign him again but he has been through quite a losing culture here since he was drafted so I fear may not want to resign with this team. I can't blame him or fault him if he does not as unless I absolutely loved Charlotte and had to live here I would want to expand my world and see if I could get with an organization where they have more culture of winning consistency and potentially a more stable environment already set-up where they may be just a good running back away from competing for the playoffs etc.
    • Do that deal but instead of the 7th give them Bryce
    • Don't really love any of these dudes  I'd wait until 2026 to draft a qb unless you're just picking up a flyer on one of these guys listed in R5- R7 or something.  Whole team is too talented deprived to be reaching for QBs of questionable ability to translate to the NFL at this point. I'd be pissed drafting any of them in R1. That let's me know either Canales, Morgan, Tepperr, or all 3 of them have not learned their lesson and are desperately grasping for a quick cure all again.  At least not having to trade up for the qb would make it more tolerable. But imo, you use it on a can't miss player. If we have pick 1 2 or 3 , you can basically draft the unanimous #1 offensive or defensive players in the draft at almost any position.  Game breaking WR to grow with Legette and Diontae. Game breaking edge to bring the defense back from the dead!!  Superb corner to pair with Jaycee to make a shut down secondary unit . fug these qbs
