He is more of a 4-3 DE but anything helps. 
 

He and Marquis Haynes are immediate upgrades over DJ Johnson and Incoom. 
 

Must not be looking good for Clowney, Barno, and Wonnum.

Everyone was so high on the Clowney signing but failed to realize he had talent around him in Baltimore. He has nobody here and is basically on his own. Will probably be gone after one season.

Clowney also is in his 11th season.   He is at the stage of his career he should be a rotational piece

Clowney was never elite. Clowney never lived up to the hype coming out of college. If you expected Clowney to be a big piece for this defense you simply haven't been watching Clowney during his career.

 

He's a solid role player nothing more nothing less. He was bound to get exposed on a lesser talented defense.

he didn't live up to the hype because he blew his knee out his rookie year and required like 3 years to come back to form. When healthy he's a consistent 10 sack a year guy.

i don't know if having your career neutered by the field in houston counts as not living up to the hype. dude had microfracture surgery and it's amazing he's done as well as he has.

Eh, idk if I'd call him a consistent 10 sack per season guy he's never had 10 sacks in a season in his career lol he's come close 9.5 twice and 9 twice but I wouldn't call that consistent. He's a solid role player like others have said he's a nice piece to have but he can't be the best player on your dline and if he is your dline probably isn't worth a fug

He was a nice piece to have.  He has fallen off a cliff and looks like the slowest guy on the field this year.  He is awful at rushing the passer now, rotational or not.
