Injuries

Yea, i seen one play against the saints and that burner got by him and he was upset before he reached the TD. I got no clue what the play calls are, but something is "off"(couple others). Seatbelt Horn didnt need safety help, it was like a young revis out there. Maybe the two injuries have changed his mind and body. idk.

Hes just not that "guy" it seems, I hope this honest take doesnt get labeled as a "hater" non-sense. Cause Im a big fan, he was pro day one and unlucky with the injury stuff. I heard he was like CMC and was over-training his body and causing stress issues that lead to injuries issues. The guy is working too hard....

Panthers cannot keep trading everyone, but.........hes got a awful history and now hes not at the same elite level. Just dangerous to sign some 100 million deal, but it would be hard to find a good replacement. Pass rush has not helped him AT ALL, thats needs to be said.

Yeah I don't know either. It's so bad at so many other places but I assumed he was on man when healthy, especially with the poo show everywhere else. He keeps looking like he was expecting help over the top on a bunch of his bad plays. Yesterday was just worse with a rookie getting the green dot and guys dropping along the way.

We're fugged either way so even if they blow it like every other time they should still try to do it the right way. He is on year 3 so next year is the time they should trade him by if they are not 100% on a second contract. I'm not sold on his health but he has only gone more than 5 games once in his career healthy which was 8 I believe. Keep him until the end of the year and see where it goes unless they get a Burns type offer is my take.

Horn is not the problem at all.

Any pressure from the Dline and safety help would make you change your mind.

Show me a Dline with pressure and I'll show you a secondary that looks good. They compliment each other.

This is the correct answer right here. I'm surprised more people can't see it.

He is statistically having his worst season but he's matched up against the best WR's just about every Sunday and having to cover for vastly longer than he needs to.

That said, it has been a tough year for him by his standards. I am sure he would say so, as well.

In the list of defensive worries, you really gotta dig deep to get down to where Horn is.

Agreed and great non biased point! It is his worst year stats wise but other factors most definitely playing in there as well just as you said.

There's no excuse a team can't be competitive and average with injuries even with reserve players.

Remember the promise of 2000 after the wild improvement in 1999?

John Kasay, Patrick Jeffers, Wesley Walls, Tim Biakabatuka, Natrone Means, William Floyd, Clarence Jones, James Dexter, Bryan Stoltenberg, Chuck Smith, Deon Grant, Eric Swann, Jason Peter, and a few more backup players were all lost early to mid season.

Steve Beuerlein continued to play with an elbow injury. He would have been on IR with that injury in 2024, and it led to Jeff Lewis taking over the offense in the 2001 offseason.

While these injuries led to a total collapse for the Seifert era offense going into 2001, that 2000 team still went 7-9 while facing the Rams,49ers and Packers. Swept the greatest show on turf, beat Favre and took care of the Jerry Rice/Terrell Owens combo for 5 of those wins.

2024 has yet to reach the 2000 level of injury disruption. Lester Towns was a slow 7th round rookie starting at MLB with 40 year old defensive players around him and bust DTs in front of him.

Good coaching will shine through with a devastated roster. This is why I have hope for Canales and ZERO hope for Evero.

The name drops in this post, holy hell lol.  I'm now remembering all these guys I completely forgot about.  Chuck Smith?  Eric Swann?  Lester Towns?  Jesus man you might be some kind of savant lol.

Hes also not the lockdown CB he showed early in his career. I swear im having burns thoughts about paying him......ie let some other team and give up a 1st or big package for his rights.

He has been doing great at tackling for lost, but the once "selt belt" clamp up your top WR guy.....hes gave up too many big plays and I say on half of them he was in good position.

Honestly feels like QBs were scared of him, they didnt even throw near him and now they are not.

Have you seen our pass rush? Literally no corner in the NFL would be.
