Crazy thought on next QB

Yeah no way we fire Canales after 1 yr.

I called the Frank firing because it was obvious. Tepper won't be able to get any of the top guys if he fires another HC back to back after 1 season.

Canales is safe for at least 2 years you can take that to the bank!

Never underestimate how dumb our owner is.

I'm thinking Canales is getting more credit than he deserves for being a "qb whisper". I'm call bs on that until it's proven otherwise. Right now he's on track to be fired in his first season.

We all realized, or should have, how green he is. Asked to play call, to fix Bryce, and to learn how to be a HC.  Anyhow, my pitchfork is pointed at Young, and Tepper for dictating that all resources be thrown at floating that boat.

But the bottom line is I pledged patience for his first year. It is a horrible situation he came into, as well, with this QB clouding the picture. I like the way the offense looked once we could see it. It didn't look good against the first real strong D we faced, true. That is one of the moments I conceded to first year growing pains. Can't really lobby that it was good but can believe the evidence at season's end. When we have all of it.

You evaluate him on how he transitions away from Young

Like I've said before, Tepper calls the shots and he decides who deserves a chance, not fans.

Canales has just as much chance finishing out his contract as all who came before him. Which by count is 0% since Tepper took over. My money is on Tepper pulling the plug on yet another coach before his 1st season is over if the losing continues.

So where is your money on Tepper absolving Bryce and continuing to make it about making him the guy?

yep that what we said after last season too but really the fanbase only gives a few games before they start getting the pitchforks and torches. so why is bringing in daniel jones a smart idea? lets start all over on another bad decision disaster?

literally our only move right now is to ride out this terrible year and hope people can start getting healthy and more familiar with whatever system is in place and grow. find more "dawgs" in the offseason.

Because we don’t have a QB for next year and will need to field one unless you want to trot BY back out there, and if we draft one I would hope we let that person sit for a season. Not saying it has to be Jones but we can’t just ignore the position for next season. I don’t think that changes anything about riding out this year

shoot i'll take andy over jones for next year. I dont see dalton getting a shot to start anywhere else and in an offense he's already familiar with.

I would see if Canales can rehabilitate Zach Wilson if anything. I think Jones is gonna play himself into another year. He has picked it up the last 3 games.

Based on what Im seeing, we need to fix the defense. I really dont want to use a draft pick on a QB next year. I would rather bring in Zach Wilson or even Russell Wilson and have Bryce compete with them.

I'd agree if you amended that to high draft pick. I think we need to start pouncing on someone with maybe points off here or there that drop them out of the top guys, perception wise.

If a guy we like for investing a little time in is there, at the right price, go for it.

There is no argument being made here, nor will there be, against fixing this defense.

I don't think we have a say in it.  Tepper is going to Tepper. He will not sit through a 1-16 season without firing someone. You can take that to the bank.

It fairly obvious that Evero needs to go. Honestly, the development of Canales is more important than the development of Bryce Young for this franchise.

I don't even know if Evero is to blame for what's happening on defense. I said before the season started that this team could not afford to lose 1 starter on defense or it was toast. Welp, here were are with damn near all of them injured. This team will not win another game. The players will be checking out soon if they haven't already. Canales is toast as well.

    • I disagree. It doesn't matter because Tepper is all in on terrible or underqualified people. He is a magnet for failures.
    • He's not coming back. I'm sure you will despite having dozens of accounts banned... including this one
    • Here’s where I go off the reservation. Don’t read if you can only endure a post that is under 2 paragraphs.    Play calling was really really weird, and it set the tone. They had no idea how to handle stunts. Passing on first down got us behind the sticks. Stunts on second/third down and the rest is history. Thielen is Mr first down and for the second week in a row, it shows how badly missed that is.  Thielen moves the chains. Chuba moves the chains. Not one single screen to Chuba. They completely abandoned the run, when it was working very well. Losing XL was the final piece. Sanders is a complete bum who checked out once he got paid.  I will say it again and again and again, Thielen is criminally under appreciated here, but very respected by defenses. Everyone is obsessed with the home run guys, but a team has to have a first down guy. Usually it’s a big TE with good hands. We don’t have that guy.  Thielen is our first down guy. He’s our check down guy who puts us in 2nd and 2. He’s our 3rd and 12 outlet. Thielen and Chuba keep us ahead of the chains. One is injured and the other was given up on. Besides those 2, we have a WR who reportedly has an attitude problem, a rookie with potential and then it’s a sea of bums and ‘who the hell is thats.’  People are really quick to dump on Andy. Long knives are out. Look, he’s been the only thing to give a glimpse of hope since Wilks. I actually still want to watch this Sunday.  So we dump Andy at the end of the season… Ok, for what then? For whom? Another stupid project? Andy’s not a world beater but he knows how to read a defense and complete a pass. He is not a project. Who would we bring in that could come close to being plug and play, that would actually WANT to be here with T as the owner.  This team isn’t even ready to draft a QB yet. He’d get killed. The receivers would grow stale and unmotivated and we’d go nowhere. Hey look another injury to a key position we have 0 depth in because we traded away more draft capital and/or murdered our cap on an oft injured vet has been.  Wash, rinse, repeat. Same old Panthers. Desperate for a savior.  This build has to be done the right way. Slow and boring. Get a hard hitting identity back again, as was advertised. Get thumpers. Trench warriors. Keep a field general around who can keep an offense alive and get a first down every once in a while. Give people a reason to want to sign contract #2 with us. Unless we can all of a sudden have a legion of boom-esque draft, our version of the 3-4 will continue to be humiliating.  Where’s the Tylenol?!
